Stacking jars in autoclave?

Can I stack my 1/2 pint jars on top off each other in the autoclave to fit more in? Or does the lid have to be loose on top?

i stack my jars in my pressure cooker...i dont know how a autocalve works, but i would imagine that if they work on the same principle, then yes...you probably can.

The lid only has to be loose so the jar wont blow up. it would lift the other jar up before it blew. I dont see any problem stacking.
