Stacking Jars in the Pot

I was just curious, I'm still to cheap for a new Pressure cooker ( currently searching thrift stores and ebay ) but I was still wanting to save time on sterilizing.  I was wondering if it is safe to stack jars on top of each other.  Basically a layer of 5 jars and then 5 more stacked on top of them, with water up till middle of bottom layer.  This way I can sterilize 10 jars at once apose to 5.  Just let me know if this will work, or point me in the right direction for a cheap pressure cooker :smile:

Are you asking about stacking jars in a pot for boiling? If so, wouldn't stacking cause the top layer to dry out easier? Or would the steam be enough to prevent drying out?
