Along these same lines, I also have another question...

How about innoculating a few 1/2 pint PF-style jars, and letting it become 100% colonized. Then, do what pjevolution suggested -- crumble up the cakes with some organic compost, and let it all chill out in a hole outside somewhere... would this basic outdoor growing method work well?

thanks
c

ive read somewhere that contamination isnt a problem when growing outside.this is the main reason i am interested in doing this.i am growing 3 pint cakes right now (just inoculated about 3 minutes ago :smile:and was thinking of using one of those to inoculate a compost pile outside but i was just curious if i could inoculate an outdoor patch with the syringe or print i have and skip all this middle man stuff.the species i have are P.C. Mazatapec(print)and the P.C. Cambodia(syringe).any information would be very helpfull.
thanks
