I know this only applies for a small minority, but I wanted to get it in a thread so it'll be searchable for later users.

Here's a link for Cheap Organic Compost in Chicago :laugh:

. It's comprised of horse poo, grass clippings, and food scraps. Price: $15 per One cubic yard (covers a 6-foot by 9-foot plot to a depth of 6 inches).

This can offer is made by our beloved city recycling center :grin:

Edit*** Here's another resource pertaining to the same service, but w/ stating a lower price.

Resource Center Urban Composting and Gardening Their mid-scale composting operation recycles yard trimmings from landscapers, horse manure from the Chicago Mounted police stables and food scrapes from cafeterias. The result is a rich organic material used to help reclaim vacant lots and transform them into community gardens and parks. Compost (pre-bagged) is $2.00/ bag, or $12.50 per cubic yard, Compost/Soil blend is $11.50 per cubic yard. Railroad ties are $8.00 each; and recycled mulch (self-service) is $0.75/bag.
