Huichol Ceremony
    #17423444 -

Anyone been to one?
I'm curious what to expect.

Whoaaao thats pretty sweet man, when are you going?
I would expect learning a bit how to pray to the earth and the sky for peace and prosperity.
I would expect to learn about the solstice, about whats really going to happen tomorrow.
I would expect to learn.
But what I have learned is to drop my expectations whenever they come up, because a thought can never represent the complexity of real life, its beauty, its scorn, its wholeness.
So I would say go into it expecting nothing, but prepared for everything.
I'm super jelly.

Me and a fellow shroomerite are going tomorrow for the end of the Bak'tun.
It'll be my first time working with Peyote, though I've worked with Trichocereus a fair amount.
I'm pretty damn excited for it.

I think you're right.
I should go into it with no expectations.

In that case, I would recommend being super playful about it. Go into it as your eternally youthful self. Don't lose the soft, mature strength gained through the time you've had on this planet though.
Ask your spirit guides to be there and to guide you, even to bring you visions. Ask with your thought what will really happen tomorrow, what will happen in the decades to come with the people and animals on this planet. Be creative with this, you can ask anything you wish, and you may immediately be given a response. Bring some solid intention in with you too.

It is up to you how you experience the change, TOTALLY UP TO YOU. How do you want to see your relation to this beautiful, infinitely interconnected universe, with your infinite and eternal self in the years to come and NOW?? Remember you are the decider of all of this, what you bring to the community, what you bring to the world and to the universe.

I choose to be the most positive self I can be, right now.
I choose to honor my mother earth with every decision I make right now.
I choose to see that I am an eternal being NOW, and to see that I am in all ways united with the universe, now. We are ONE.
I choose to be the most positive self I can possibly be, right now.

Peace, safe travels.
Namaste

Ironic to see this thread in here.  Today I just received a Huichol prayer bowl that I got for my girlfriend as a Christmas gift.  Tiny beads inside form a really awesome, peyote inspired design.  It's pretty awesome!   I'd love to go do one of their ceremonies.

There are more people imprisoned for the commission of drug offenses in the United States - close to 500,000 - than are incarcerated in England, France, Germany, and Japan for all crimes combined.  Examined in another way, the United States has 100,000 more people incarcerated for nonviolent drug offenses than all the countries of the European Union combined, despite the fact that the European Union has 100 million more citizens. :crankey:

It was pretty awesome.
It's inspired me to start working with cactus again.
And to cut down on my recreational drug use.
