Education in anything. A degree in practically anything opens up employment opportunities that are simply not available to a high school dropout, someone with a GED or even someone with only a diploma. I've known plenty of smart people. You're just trying to perpetuate your favorite fallacy that all smart people are successful and only stupid/lazy people ever fall into misfortune and don't deserve to do well anyway. I've met a lot more intelligent poor people than I've met intelligent wealthy people.

That's what everyone who takes out a loan thinks, not just you. That's what people who take out loans to afford their homes or a shitty car to get to work think also. I've never met anyone who has taken out a loan they couldn't afford just to purchase something they didn't think was somehow necessary for their future or their current livelihood.

You must not too many recent college graduates.  I know plenty of people that have degrees that are intelligent, but are unemployed.

I should restate that. I hate the people that I've encountered at walmart.  Some of the most inconsiderate people I've ever dealt with in retail.  Might just be because they hate their job, but I'm always really nice to people in retail so it pisses me off when they treat me shitty.

Dude in all honesty I dont work at walmart or shop there either. Cvs i shop at. Which btw if you work at the pharmecy is an awesome place to work at. But walmart is garbage I dont shop there or work there. Who forces people to? You know who made society suck so bad? Society. Its been said, the idiots who bitch about walmart also shop there.

Btw zappa, why didnt you point out the few hundred richest companies on that list when I said "who gets the rest of the Walmart $300 billion profits if they only keep 4%?" Thought I was going to get doused on that one for sure. Still, Id have liked to see it in writing

No poor people are out buying boats and new suv's with their loans. Only republicans want you to believe that. I come from a town with A LOT of poor people and none of them were buying anything new. They are buying cheap, used items to replace anything essential that is broken and spending most of their money on food that is necessary to survive, bills and whatever living costs they may incur.

I don't know how so many people are brainwashed into thinking all poor people are poor because they are stupid or because they buy nice things. Real poor people are just like you and I, struggling and managing their money pretty well. Just a few decades ago you could work an unskilled job and make enough to pay your bills and everything necessary for a decent life. Now, a minimum wage job hardly pays the rent in most states and food and gas prices have rocketed up.

Note the part I bolded above for you.  A degree in anything?  I think not:

You must have met a shit ton more poor people than rich ones, then.  And I do believe I addressed the misfortune angle.  Nope, poor people are poor because they suck.

You don't borrow money to afford a home.  You borrow money to pay for it.  If you can't afford the home you can't afford the home and how you buy it is irrelevant.

Too bad nobody else understood that last thing you said, if so there would have been no housing defaults

This is totally fictitious.  You could not work an unskilled job and support a family in anything other than squalor.

Meanwhile look at what they have now.

I'd rather be happy and poor than a well off miserable prick.  Money can't buy happiness, I've known enough rich assholes to learn that.

Also, what fucking world is a degree in Chemistry, Animal Studies, or Psychology useless?  $ is a shitty way to gauge what use a degree has.

Psychology and Animal Studies?  Every world.  Chemistry was surprising but I'm guessing their taking it as an end degree, which Chem usually is not.

Given everything else equal I'd just as soon not have to worry about the rent and food.  If you enjoy worrying about them then good for you.  I certainly don't worry abut them.

You're greatly mistaken if you think Animal Science is a BS major.  Who do you think does animal research?  The research the animal science majors do is a fuck ton more important than whatever "major contribution" you do for society...

As for Psychology, you probably think its a BS major because you haven't dealt with the issues you have.  It would probably help you if you did.

so you're comparing the GDP of the US at the current times to all of the EU,

nations as opposed to say the netherlands. is it really fair to compare a
conglomerate of countries to a single country?

He'd probably learn more animal science in one year in your back yard.  For his sophomore year he could go to the front yard and for his doctorate he could try your bedroom.

Say that when your heart stops working right and a dr puts a stent inside you.  Who do you think does that research on animals?

My dad is a animal science major and did animal research for over 40 years putting pace makers, stents into dogs, sheep, etc.  A lot of his coworkers had the same major.  They aren't going to hire drs to do that, its too expensive.  The doctors are in charge of the cases, and tell them what to do.
