Sweet, With a couple dollar raise it'd only cut into 1% of their overall profit. What an outrage eh?

Wanders around 4%.  What an outrage

Quite high if you take into account that supermarket margins are in the 1-2.5% range.
But I'm not claiming that it should be paid for only by putting more pressure on company margins. Pressures there should be in place, sure, but it's clear to me that in the end, it's the customer who will have to foot the bill for the product they purchase. And perhaps that means we can't afford both the remotely operated vibrator and the 15" black rubber cock and we'll have to choose between either. I understand that in the US, saying something like that could almost land you in prison, or at least will have you labeled as a communist. Still, in the end, even the most materialistic American will have to admit that what goes around, comes around. And it's not entirely clear how much there's to go around for everyone.

People in Europe do work, and quite hard in fact. We are however more susceptible to the perceived importance of humane conditions, both at work and in society at large.

They work hard?:rofl2:  Mandatory paid vacation and a 35 hr work week is hard?  You made me pee.

Yeah, I always like that one. I live in one of those countries. Well, a work week is 38-40 hours and there's nothing mandatory about vacations (I never seem to be able to consume my vacation days, as is the case for most people I know). But still, we have that hilariously bad work ethic that you like to mock. Still, our normalized GDP per capita is slightly higher than that of the US. Care to explain how come we seem to be doing better while we are, as you suggest, working less hard?

Realizing a higher normalized GDP per capita. Like I wrote. Read it again until you get it.

That doesn't really tell you much, since the vast majority of Europeans aren't Greek.

Oh come on. Of course a society is synergistic. It's been that way since the wide-spread introduction of division of labor some 12,000 years ago. Then if someone says it could be more synergistic, it's bullshit all of a sudden

Explain that to the shareholders, who would place a lower value to share price. Wal-Mart executives have a responsibility to maximize profitability, and that includes paying the lowest wages possible to keep a competent workforce.

 no you are wrong and zappaisgod is right... exxon mobiles profit margins are so low compared to their operating cost... their profits only exceed like 250 billion dollars, who could question how poor they are, they just give and give

You think a 4% profit margin is HIGH?

I would prefer that the bullshit train stay in Europe and not come around here.  Sadly many Americans seem to have been infected with the notion that sucking is to be rewarded, a previously solely European notion.

Why does it not surprise me that you are European?

You are not doing better.  In fact you are far worse off unless you live in Germany. I wonder how much worse it would be if you had to pay for your defense.  Welfare states.

If fuckers won't pay you with money, there are other ways of making them pay.

http://www.gutenberg.org/files/26184/page-images/26184-images.pdf

Quote:
Since World War II, US intelligence agencies have devised innovative ways to defeat their adversaries. In 1944, CIA’s precursor, the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), created the Simple Sabotage Field Manual.

This classified booklet described ways to sabotage the US’ World War II enemies. The OSS Director William J. Donovan recommended that the sabotage guidance be declassified and distributed to citizens of enemy states via pamphlets and targeted broadcasts.

Surprisingly Relevant Sabotage Instructions

Many of the sabotage instructions guide ordinary citizens, who may not have agree with their country’s wartime policies towards the US, to destabilize their governments by taking disruptive actions.  Some of the instructions seem outdated; others remain surprisingly relevant. Together they are a reminder of how easily productivity and order can be undermined.

Then as the owners of the company they should shut it down.  I can't wait to see the great service to the poor and the community in taxes and low prices that the Bodhi of Ankhou store will generate.

NOT.  I crack me up sometimes.
