scares the shit out of me. i hate ticks so much. never had it though and i've only ever found one tick on me and i don't think he was there long thank gawd.

The sad thing is that a lot of doctors know very little about it and many will ether mis the diagnosis of someone with it or treat them for too short a time to get rid of the disease

I had it, but they caught it early and three weeks of antibiotics took care of it. Those antibiotics fucked me up though.

I used to live in the sticks, grew up with ticks all around and would regularly find them attached to myself or my clothes after a day of hiking or playing in the woods.  I personally have never contracted Lyme, but I had a childhood friend who did.  It fucked her shit up.

back when i was trail running almost everyday i found a tick on me when i was in bed. thankfully it was just crawling on me. phew!

lol at all the users posting about finding one or two ticks on them in their life.

Shit, there were times I went hiking and came back with 6 or 7 attached to my leg. :crankey:

never had lyme disease though.

i've pulled countless ticks off of my pets. once there was one stuck to my dogs eyelid. that was a tough one.

I had the start of a rash last year, took doxycycline for a month. I don't see how it's possible that I hadn't been infected earlier. I discover a couple ticks a year only after they start itching enough for me to notice. Usually next to me balls or behind the knee. I've managed to walk through those hot spots and get home to find many dozens crawling over me.

I smashed this bitch earlier this year.

What are the symptoms of lyme disease?

Amazingly I've never had a tick. I've been outdoors months at a time, and gotten everything from chiggers to poison ivy.
Every time a tick is on me, it seems I feel them crawling on me and pull them off before they bite.

One year at Wakarusa I pulled off 3 ticks before they bit me, and one of my friends had 2 ticks embedded when we left.

I got a terrible fever with mindfuck and rash upon onset the first time, which got better after a few days then went away totally with antibiotics.

The second time I just had a general ill feeling and I got a rash.  Didn't get it treated it for a few weeks and didn't even realize I had lyme again until the dr. told me.  I'm not sure if I got bit again or it recurred, I was also kinda strung out at the time.

My joints are a little fucked, I am pretty achy and sore in general.  I think I got very lucky in that sense compared to some others.  I'm not even sure they're effected at all, I could just be getting old.

WHere do you live?

I get them all the time.  Mostly big wood ticks though. Walking through the woods.  They mostly leave me alone in the house.

  They seem to like to go for the balls.

Can't remember how many times I've gone to take a piss or scratched my nuts and found a little brown sucker clinging on.  doesn't hurt but it freaks you out having tick mouth parts embeded in your flesh.  they swell up and get huge
