born into misery
    #17001854 -

I have a higher self awareness than most people, atleast that's what I believe. I'm the middle child, the odd piece that doesn't fit anywhere. I try to fit in, but I can't. I am misunderstood in the most comical way from a certain standpoint. Almost like if I have the soul of a miserable clown. Truly misunderstood. Having the most genuine and loving intentions, ending up conveyed as the opposite. An emotional rollercoaster, over analytical, at times deluded, somewhat awkward guy going through an existential crisis since childhood. Manic depressive. Eccentric. Drug dependent. Alcoholic. I can't keep a god damn conversation going without wandering off. Often mistaken as gay. If there is such thing as a curse, I got it...bad......I just don't know.....:feelsbadman:

Sounds like you need to stop giving a fuck.  You won't be awkward if you aren't self-conscious.  Awkwardness happens when your intentions do not line up with your actions.  Act as you please and people will react more positively to you.  :sunny:

Pretty much this exactly... track down that give-a-fuck-o-meter and take a sledge hammer too it. you will be much better off for it.

Don't really see a problem.  You want to come off a machine press?

  You can't just "try the approach."  It takes much reflection and time.  I can't say I'm as far along as I want to be but I'm further along than most people it seems.

As for drug dependency, I would recommend finding a way to free yourself from debauchery. Those drug habits, which are fun and seemingly necessary, could lead you to a darker place or even inflict upon you an untimely demise.

It's true. You're not so different from anybody else. Lots of people "suffer" of complicated minds which are obstacles in and of themselves. Do you have any outlets in your life? Do you write, play guitar, workout, paint, sing, or dance? Expressing your frustration through art or craft is a great way to release. And who knows? Maybe having an outlet will take your mind off the entire problem itself. It may be hard at first, but force upon yourself at least one serious hobby, and do it every day for an hour.

Did you ever read JD Salinger's 'the Catcher in the Rye'? The book is about a young kid who, by the sounds of your description, is having similar issues. You should pick it up and read it. Pay particular attention to the advice his pervert English teacher gives him at the end of the book. It's the kind of advice that pertains to those who have misunderstood thoughts.

It's an easy read, the book is, and it's not expensive either. Give it a try.
