Jury Duty WoeZ
    #16998311 -

i dont know who else to ask since most people i know are felons and dont have to deal with Jury Duty summons. one of the many benefits of being a Felon so they say  my current residence is in Philadelphia i was living there with my BF, now my Ex. i been living at my parents house now for over a month, my Ex doesnt even want to see me at all so i dont really get my mail.

apparently i had gotten another summons for Jury Duty that i never knew about. the date was for the 2nd so i was Failure to Appear. he is not talking to me either so i found out about this over the weekend from a mutual acquaintance now saying im being threatened with $500 and jail time of 10 days which sounds a little intense like maybe he is trying to scare me. has anyone ever Failed to Appear for Jury Duty ? and what happens ?

and just out of curiosity.. have any of you ever been Summoned for Jury Duty ? and how many times ? i talked to my mum whos 20+ older years than me and she has only been called 2wice. and this is my 2nd time in 3 years. the difference is she has always lived in the Country and i have lived in the City. so what determines if you get called in or not ?

does it have to do with the amount of Crime in your area ? which there is ALOT. or maybe even Secretly, your income ? im asking this because my Ex-BF has been called in 5 times since i have been living with him in the city, no times ever before that. neither have i until i moved to the city. and he has a really good job with good pay

December 1960:
"They took the drug one evening at Leary's house and had a profound experience, during which Ginsburg prophetically realized that it was a time to start "a peace and love movement". He then ran naked around the house, attempted to get Kruschev and Kennedy on the telephone and announced to the operator that he was God."

just go in to jury duty looking as wrecked and down and out as possible, fall asleep in the court room, etc, the prosecution will have you removed from the jury, because they will think you wont give a fair decision

I got summoned once but all I did was call them to see if I was going.
I never had to go.

I was always told unless the letters were certified they could not prove if you received them or not.

Were they certified and did you sign for them?

I'm also a felon. :hi: The only jury I ever worried about was the 1 that convicted me:chaingang: Change of address will buy you some time. I think it's law in Pa. to do that within 30 days of moving, anyway. If you moved to the 'burbs, you're in a different jurisdiction.. I think they get the potential jury names from voter registration lists. :waits for :Prisoner1: 's advice...:goodluck: . . . :peace:

I never responded to any jury duty summons. This was years ago. Never saw a thing come of it. How can they prove you received the summons? Sounds like you didn't

none of mine ever came certified. And if someone recieved your certified mail pretending to be you, they would be in violation of federal law and potentially in LOTS of trouble if you wanted to pursue it.

As a citizen of the US it is your civic duty to go to Jury Duty.  Bring a pay stub so they know how much you make, because after all they pay you to go by matching your current pay rate.  Did you know that?  Tell your employer ahead of time, so you can skip out of work to do this.  All US employers recognize Jury Duty.  I went to jury duty once and I was called on to be apart of the jury.  The defense lawyer will ask questions and other court personnel will choose the people they want to stay.  Unfortunately I was called off the jury.

The case was 2 twin brothers in their 40's where one bro hit the other bro with a crowbar!  It gave me a story to tell later on.  :stoned:

Maybe where you live.

Here they pay a flat rate $14.00 per day.

You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for that my dear friend is the beginning of the end of any nation. call them and let them know that you had moved a few months ago and your mail
is not being forwarded properly so you've just now received the summons. in
the future, consider serving on jury duty, you'll rarely ever be selected to
serve on a jury, you typically get paid for it and you could be the deciding
factor in someone's case, setting a man free that doesnt deserve to be in
jail on a drug charge or something. read up on jury nullification
