They pause after as if to let it sink in how impressive they are - what actually sinks in is the reinforcement of the idea that they're fucking disgusting and are viewing the situation all wrong.

They all said it the same way, but I forget how exactly. I believe from the way they all said it the same that it is a part of their training to be told this.



I've witnessed unprovoked police brutality many times. Once was extreme - the guy (my friend) was told to put his hands behind his back, he did so calmly and was cuffed. He had not done anything to provoke them, which is unusual for him. He has a bad name with the cops and does tend to resist arrest and go down fighting... but not this time. The cop that cuffed him grabbed him by the cuffs, kicked his knee from behind so he would fall to the ground (meanwhile he yelled "STOP RESISTING ARREST!" and similar phrases) and the two cops gave him a good kicking.

In court his previous record of resisting arrest multiple times combined with the two cops swearing blind that he was out of control, trying to flee the scene and attack them etc. was enough to discount the testimony of all of the witnesses apparently. The system is bullshit, especially the part where two cops lying for each other always trumps what citizens have to say.

Cops once told a friend of mine (with me in the seat next to him) "right to remain silent? You getting smart boy? You think you're in FUCKING AMERICA or something? You have no fucking rights. Now answer my question - if you refuse to I will take it as you refusing to cooperate (or some such thing) with an investigation and I will place you under arrest". What lead up to that was the cop asking "where did you just come from and where are you driving to?" and my friend invoked his right to remain silent

We laid a complaint, the cop did a bunch of other sketchy things... the NZ police sent a representative to officially apologise, but he refused to admit at any stage my friend was told he had no rights and made it clear that both cops present had given a written version of events which does not include that ever being said, and that they will swear blind in court that their version of events is the truth. He dropped the case knowing it would get him nowhere and accepted the apology.

They ARE just the biggest gang, one we're conditioned to support and believe defend our best interests. I don't want to support a gang, and I don't want a gang's supposed support.

My personal experience of cops is that about 1 in 5 are just doing their job, but 4 in 5 will go the extra mile and power trip - insult you or batter you or treat you in a way that is unjust because they have power and it amuses them. I was recently arrested and 2 hours of my stay in the cells was in cuffs done up too tight. I asked why I was still in cuffs in the cells and the cop spat out "because I can't find my key, that's why". He knew exactly where the fucking key was.

A cop while taking a digital print of my full hand pointed at the red patches appearing on the screen and said that it was drug residue, that some of it was marijuana and some was from another drug. He said a few things to back up the supposed validity of the test. I said no comment to each question he asked me... eventually once it was over I asked another cop, and he said that the other guy was full of shit and the red patches are where it couldn't read your prints too clearly.

A cop told me to walk into a large room, nearly pitch black. He and his partner followed. They then said that it was where they beat the shit out of the ones that don't cooperate, that they just give them a good fucking kicking, take them outside, hose them off then throw them in the cells to freeze and if anyone asks they tried to escape. They then advanced on me and asked if I had some answers for them that weren't "no comment" in an attempt to seem menacing. They did not fool me, I understood they were full of shit and was lead out of the room.

Think of the type of person who wants to be a cop anyway - someone who wants power over others is the #1 type to go for that sort of position. Someone who was bullied as a kid or feels weak or just enjoys the act of bullying others... When you let whoever wants power step up and take it, you end up with the wrong people entirely doing the job. If there is to be a police force, it should be people who are recommended for the position by the community, having recognised this person's traits as a just and level-headed person (not some power-hungry fuck). From there the candidates should be filtered, then offered the position which they can accept or decline.

An interesting note - a police officer told me while arresting me for possession of cannabis that I was very chill and that I should "keep smoking that weed" and laughed. He seemed confused as to why I did not find the situation funny. I fought the urge to tell him.

i'd like the idea of cops getting background checks, AND having some kind of election system by the community, which is monitered and not rigged. That would solve most of the problems
