Gymnopilus luteoviridis? =D

Habitat: growing in a large highly rotten log in Pennsylvania,


Gills: gills are yellow with small brown dots
Color, attached/not, gills close to but not attatched to stem

Stem: 1/2 cm long, 1/4 cm wide,smooth, almost solid but it is hollow, thin at base getting slightly wider near the cap


Cap: 3 cm, brown/ golden, smooth, flat


Spore print color:
maeing one as we speak

Bruising: none that i noticed, except in the gill picture along the tear i made in the cap it looks darker, possibly from shadow?

The fact that you say it's got a smooth cap makes me a little skeptical as to it being a gym. The tend to have a sort of "scaly" feel. I found luteoviridis not to be as scaly feeling as say a junonius, but it wasn't smooth either.

I'm not sure how long you have been hunting for but if it makes you feel any better, it takes most people years to find actives, where are you from and what are you looking for? Don't get discouraged, if you went fishing and didn't catch anything you wouldn't give up fishing... right?
