Gymnopilus luteoviridis
    #20610719 - 09/24/14 10:04 AM (9 years, 4 months ago)

Habitat:
Gregarious on a root sticking out from an oak stump in central Texas, sorry I didn't get this picture, but it was definitely an oak stump.

Gills:
Somewhere between a mustardy cream and rust colored, depending on spore presence. Actually, they're favoring rusty, just came back in and my eyes are adjusting slowly.

Stem:
2-5cm in length, up to 1cm diameter, hollow center, same rust color as cap and spores.

Cap:
2-5cm wide, flatish, cream/yellow/orange/rust color.

Spore print color:
The spores are a rusty reddish color

Bruising:
Can't tell if bruising is bringing out the rust color or disturbing the spores.

EDIT: Some bruising at the base/lower stem, went back to check pins and found some subtle bluing/greening.

Other information:
I've never found an active, though this place is CRAWLING with Pan. Ants.... Yet the boletes are all that's turning blue.
That said, I'm nearly positive about this ID.
THAT said, I've been nearly positive before.

and this is always fun... lol

EDIT: Here's the print, I think it went long enough for ID, also, it's rusty:

More images showing bluing, gills, spores, etc.

Impressionist trip reporting:
"Thoughtspores"
Still kind of fungal at posting this, 9/25/14 2:50pm

<<>>begin transcript:
okay they call it tripping because there are nine trips between you and the thing you want in this case it’s a glass of water and after you leave to get it you find yourself on a journey that Cn only happen when you are trying to find some satisfaction or an ease for your thirst and you go on a journey and do some random shit but come back without any fucking water and then you go to get water and the same thing happens. It happens a bunch of times. then there are these fucking shit my fuck. so when you’re going to get the water you come back one step closer to going and getting the water. I don’t know man. Like the point is how you go and then when you’re going something ele happens like turning an abrupt corner in reality. That’s a FUCKING BRICK. Like the way I go to get my water and come back with something else and wonder why I went in the first place. then I remember and go again and the same happens. I mean there are all the places you go but there are also the places you wind up at and this is neither and I mean where am I right now wholy shit im just pressing buttons as fast as ai can and im making myself exist to keep up holy shit what kit ha[ppening I don’t weven know what im gonna say it just happens like the meaning is not causing the button presses ut it is lol

It was a brief jaunt through the present.
But that is not my place.
And I should stay.
In my place.
Alone.
I guess I am tripping. I figured it out now as I tried to record it. Just experiencing it is one thing. It is beautiful thing. But I cannot be myself in the present.
That must mean that myself is this beautiful thing. The thing that I hid.
Just like I told Nan.
Like you’ve been telling me.
You are the thing I can reach through this method alone.
You are the euphoria bell.
You are me that I can’t be anymore.
Not alone.
This is such a good hiding place.

Dig dig dig me out please dig me out but this doesn’t feel right.
I can’t pretend to be you.
I’m not you.
Oh god here it comesone else will. I can’t write myself. that isn’t me/ I’m recording me right now almost S FAST as I think  ymy thoughts. I’m still behind a  layer but it’s closer. I’m me though. Me I’m me. the voice. I’m me. I’m the voice
I’m the voice
I’m the voice
im the voce
im the voice
im the voice
im the voice

I have to be me because no

I’m all of it.

There are certain pieces of knowledge or understanding that you straighten out while tripping, and you think, I’m not sure if I’ve always understood that, and I don’t know if I’ve always been this way, and those mark the drop-offs, or the “before,” or the lines between the bricks. It really flattens out your knowledge base and puts it on a plane with lots of other options, in fact, such a vastness of options that just choosing your current knowledge is frighteningly limiting, and also in such a way that makes you wonder if you got it right. My problem so far has been the misunderstanding of this aspect of self development as something that happens at an unreachable distance from the planet. Self questioning is a space that I do not yet inhabit comfortably. I think the necessity is that the discomfort one causes themselves while in the space of self-questioning is actually a result of their comfort in and with the idea of the zone itself. honestly just existing in your own actual real right now space is scary as fuck that’s where im at.

Goodnight triplog loll. its 2pm lol newly minted semi-self-aware human signing off lol almost there lol not like almost signing off but like almost self-aware lol its hard dammit lol gnight tom lol gnight lol

Oh, I forgot to mention, basically the whole time I was typing just now, I felt like I was typing my way through a jungle. Like, seriously as if typing was the force that was carrying my body and intellect through a damned forest or some overgrowth like a mower or something it was symbolic as shit probably. I keep getting this sense of a mycelium growing through my brain and controlling my actions and manipulating reality through me and all other hosts. Which is not wholly unpleasant. It is weird af.

If my mind is the mycelium, then my thoughts are the fruiting bodies, and these words are the spores.
I’ll call them thoughtspores.

Still don’t have any water.
<<>>End transcript

Oh and i forgot the part about the 3d glasses. its the constantly checking to see if the 3d is making a difference ruins 3 movies and something really similar makes bad trips.
This was really good and positive.
Rode my bike and went outside. Found a big bolete, wrote "trippy huh?" on it and set it by the road.
god those homonyms were like stuck together spelling wise.
Managed to be here typin at peak
Mostly actually took my own advice
good day

Thanks, sismos. They're pretty easily Gyms, aren't they? According to the Shroomery's mushrooms-by-state page, luteoviridis is the only one matching this desription I should be coming across. Wiki says they're active, with both psilocybin and psilocin, so I'm pretty excited, just waiting on a firmer confirmation , and maybe some info about dosing and/or paring with 12" of San Pedro.:mushroom2: :cactuarrun: :ashstrobe:
Maybe some grapefruit juice, idk.

Hah yeah, I'm holding out for that TI. :badshroom:

I've been scoping the area for days, but this is the first of these I've seen, and so now I'll know to look for them. I also just read that green/blue bruising pins is a good indicator for these guys, so I might go back and check while I wait.

Thanks for taking a look. I'm about 99% + at this point, based on all I've read. I'm just waiting on someone to come here and say they're safe to eat, because that 1% is plenty of space for self-doubt and second guessing.

Here's a good page on Shroomery, these things are, as far as I can tell, identical to the photos submitted by implee.

Here are a few more images. The bruising was slow and subtle, but it can be seen more clearly now.

EDIT: placed images in OP

Notice one of those mushrooms that I held up earlier, the one with the half broken cap, the previously white base is now blue
I really wanna take them tonight! but I really want that yes 1st

I could kiss your feet!
Thank you so much.
Gonna toss em in the blender with some orange, grapefruit, lemon, and drinkability.
Think that amount looks good for a dose?

No, unfortunately. It takes both hands to hold it all. Ah, well, if the shroomery guide link is accurate it should at least get me somewhere

Ah, maybe I'll go see about some more then

150 grams fresh or 15 grams dried should do the trick.
Did you check the surrounding area for more?

Eh, I need like 2 or three times as much as I have then, probably. I checked around pretty thoroughly, went back later today to check again and found some more, checked a different area just now and found a couple.
I think I'll take your advice and hold off tonight, see what I find tomorrow. Plus, if I don't find enough tomorrow, I'll have a little bit of San Pedro to help things along.

Found a nice witchy stump this morning. currently trying to get through 70+ caps before launch. Blended them with whole grapefruit, lemon, orange, tangerine and honey, hopefully will potentiate. Very earthy, bitter and large, should have just chomped but oh well, it's not like Pedro, and it is going down. Too much acid this one time will be okay. Speaking of Pedro, I burned him last night. I swear I think the mushrooms manipulate a day or two on either side of their ingestion, hell, I've kind of thought fungus is god/it/one/mystery-zone/familiar-place/nirvana/whatever ever since I watched that Paul Stamets video on the mounds of dirt he inoc'd with oysters.
God damn only half way down and I notice it, need to stop writing and get to drinking lol

Many thanks, everyone, and one love. I'm gonna go see what the speakers have to say!

EDIT: *I think I'm getting high dorkiness*
