Auto-SummaryThe post argues that the fruit diet is not a healthy or sustainable way to eat, as it lacks essential nutrients and can lead to serious health issues such as malnutrition, tooth loss, and kidney failure. The post criticizes the person promoting the diet, Dr. Robert Morse, for lacking legitimate degrees and promoting supplements. It also cites historical examples of fruitarian diets failing and compares the health of those who ate a balanced diet with those who followed a fruit-based diet. The post concludes by stating that there is little scientific evidence supporting the fruit diet as a healthy lifestyle.
Hemispheres said: this isn't a diet at all. it's called eating according to our species biological design. we are part of the primate family. primates are fruigivores by nature. that means predominately fruit eating species! notice he doesn't even talk much about veggies. that's because humans don't digest them well, it doesn't fit our biological design. humans are not herbivores!
absolutely incorrect, all of the great apes eat meat, humans moreso than chimps and gorillas. a diet, that's what you consume, a fad diet, that's what loads of people suddenly try and typically based on bad advice. in early humans we ate predominantly meat, we foraged for nuts and berries and some plant materials but because this was sometimes fatal it wasnt done frequently since animals were abundant and human intelligence was growing by leaps and bounds http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-10938453 http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2010/03/100305-first-proof-gorillas-eat-monkeys-mammals-feces-dna/ http://www-bcf.usc.edu/~stanford/chimphunt.html

of course you dont have to believe the 'intellectuals' since they went to school, got legitimate degrees and then dedicated years to studying what's actual scientific evidence and not based on circumstantial evidence such as how good you feel or what you want to believe
Quote: you speak of fructose as if it's a disaccharide, and there's a major difference there. there's been so much mis-info on fructose. i've heard of thousands and thousands of testimonials of people getting off their diabetes meds in record time by adopting a fructose diet!
I spoke of sugar, not mono or polysaccharides, I'm sure people get off their diabetes meds when they go into renal failure because they eat nothing but high sugar diets
Quote: degrees don't mean jack shit!
then why the hell does Morse need a half dozen bogus degrees?
Quote: dr. morse found has over the years that the more simple he took things the more results he got. medical doctors are intellectuals and they can't "cure" anything. this has actually been discussed on his videos a few times. modern medicine is symptom suppression at best and never ever treats the underlying cause.
Robert Morse isnt a doctor, he's a degree mill fraud, you say degrees dont mean shit but you refer to this fraud as a Doctor, you say doctors cant cure anything and yet other than a couple of pieces of anecdotal evidence where you tell us how someone feels better because they eat a fruit diet, which doesnt prove anything but that they're on a sugar rush, you've not shown anything proving that a fruit diet does anything.
let's examinie the viability of the fruit diet, Arnold Ehret couldnt test the long term viability of a fruit diet and why is that? because Ehret died after falling down, not down a flight of stairs or from a ladder, he just fell and died, the cause was that his bones were too brittle and when he struck his head it broke his skull and that's because he wasnt getting a suitable amount of calcium... or we can use the alternative, he had a heart attack and fell, cracking his skull because he had brittle bones. either way it's strong evidence from the fruitarian diet creator that the diet is bunk
doctor back in the 70s tried this fruit diet as have a few vegan friends of mine, all 3 report the same thing, it's an all sugar diet that will cause you to loose your teeth. seriously, one lost about 4 teeth before he found out why. they weren't rotting, they were getting loose and falling out
Quote: robert does not promote supplements of any kind!
Robert Morse doesnt promote healthy eating, he promotes a crackpot diet and pushes it with fancy sounding degrees from a degree mill and why does he do that, because degrees are important when you're trying to impress on people that you know what you're talking about. would you go to a car salesman for legal advice? would you go to a rock musician to learn about astrophysics? Why would you go to a high school drop out that spent about $1500 to call himself a doctor... is it because he wrote a book? is it because he really does push supplements but doesnt call it that, have you tried his Indian Root pills? they're a supplement, he calls it an herbal supplement and just where does any other supplement get the bulk of it's ingredients?
supplements, directly from his website http://drmorsesherbalhealthclub.com/shop/index.php/chinese-herbs.html

Quote: he will even tell you that they are crap.
and yet he sells them
Quote: one of the best things dr. morse has going for him is that he didn't get bogged down by intellectualism!
no, he puts up the pretense of being a doctor, I can become a doctor of neuropathy by simple flying to las vegas, paying $675 and taking a test, no need to be intelligent, it's an open book test, fr an extra $100 they mail it to my local library and I take the test there and then I can call myself a doctor of neuropathy as well. BTW, it's quack medicine
Quote: and dialysis...omg...that's an extremely toxic procedure! people generally loose whatever last bit of kidney filtration they had left from that. if people didn't eat so much damn nitrogen from animal protein, you wouldn't even be talking about that dialysis.
so what you're saying is that if we eat flesh our kidneys will fail? clearly those on dialysis have suffered renal failure, it's not the dialysis that causes it. My great grandmother ate for breakfast and lunch, biscuits an bacon, she'd pour the bacon grease over the biscuits (that surely couldnt be healthy), for dinner she'd have pork, squirrel or rabbit, she didnt touch beef or fish because she grew up on the chisholm trail and saw a lot of cattle slaughtered, she did keep a cow but it was strictly milk. she died at 94, she was in perfect health. my great aunt and her husband, they passed away at 101 and 99 respectively, they ate the same sort of diet but did include beef. they even smoked and drank. all this back in the day where lard and tallow were common fats for cooking now surely in 100 years of eating a diet like that their kidneys would have failed?
what's the average lifespan of a fruitarian or a raw vegan? how much do they have to eat per day?
the answer... no one knows because they all give up the diet when their health starts failing or they otherwise learn how poor a diet it is http://www.diet.com/g/fruitarian-diet
Quote: Risks
There are many risks associated with a fruitarian diet and the risks grow as the degree of fruitarianism increases. That is, a person whose diet is 75% fruit is likely to have more health issues that a person on a diet consisting of 50% fruit. There are serious risks associated with the diet for diabetics, since fruit has a high sugar content. People with diabetes and insulin resistance syndrome should not go on an all-fruit diet. There are also the risks of serious nutritional deficiencies, including vitamin B12, calcium, iron, zinc,.omega-3 and omega-6 amino acids, and protein. There is also the risk of severe weight loss, which can lead to anorexia and other health problems.
In 2001, a husband and wife from Surrey, England, were convicted of child cruelty in the death of their nine-year-old daughter. A pediatrician had testified in court that the infant, who died from a chest infection caused by malnutrition, was not developing properly because the mother’s breast milk was nutritionally deficient. The couple ate a diet of only raw vegetables, fruits, and nuts. Research and general acceptance
There is little, if any, scientific research that supports fruitarianism as a healthy lifestyle, especially over the long-term, unless foods such as beans, green vegetables, soy, and whole grains are included in the diet. However, there is much scientific documentation on the benefits of a vegetarian diet. There is general and widespread disapproval of an all-fruit diet by the medical, scientific, fitness, and vegetarian communities. Many people experience positive results after initially going on a fruitarian diet but over time develop health problems, including emaciation, constant hunger, weakness, and fatigue
