Crinkling in the brain?
    #1643374 -

anyone ever got this? it feels weird. is it good or bad? it kinda feels good...like scratching an itch in my brain or something. The only time ive experienced it is a few times during meditation and once on shrooms.

a friend of mine who is absolutly not spiritual at all really. He acknowleges stuff like astral projection but its all to wierd for him. He says the physical world is almost too much for him as it is  lol

anyway he was telling me about one time when he was on acid and he was getting this wierd crinkling in his brain and stuff.....so i know im not the only one thats felt this.

Stay away from electrical outlets.
If it still persists, see a doctor.

I've heard of "clicking your imigdula" but I've been unable to find any real info on this online. I can't remember where I heard it but the speaker was a brain doctor of some sort.

I don't think it's bad for you at all.

I think I know what you're talking about.. I'd call it more of a rumbling, liquidy, ecstatic feeling in the center of the brain. Sometimes it will run up and down my brain stem and spinal cord. Sometimes I cry when this happens.

Mushrooms are what really introduced it to me, although it happens all the time now.

I've had the celophane experience quite a few times now... don't be alarmed, it's not unnatural or anything to worry about.

Weird, I experienced this a couple times while tripping and once after just smoking some good bud. I always thought I was just bugging out but I heard this clicking noise coming from the middle of my brain! Sometimes it sounds like crinkling, sometimes like a clicking sound. Thanks for the info, at least now I know I'm not crazy.

Nevermind, that article didn't explain the sensation I was having. I guess I remain a freak!

hehe yeah that is a little different than what i expereinced. It was in the center of my brain...and it was crinkling celophane....it wasent just a sound but i could feel it too.

wierd.

i know the crown chakra is said to be in the penal(sp?) glad in teh center of the brain. The same part that released DMT. Mabey it was jsut my crown chakra wiggin out like your heat chakra does when your sepperating form you body. Fells like your heart but its only the chakra opening up.

Yah..I occasionaly experience a similar kind of sensation.  The feeling I get kind of defies description, but it does feel a bit like a crinkling now that you mention it.

The first time I felt it was in a dream.  I've also experienced it while tripping and most recently through a kind of meditation.

I've found that I can reproduce it through this meditation technique that I read about in Prometheus Rising:

Sit in a room where you will not be disturbed and begin thinking "I am sitting in this room doing this exercise because...and then list as many of the "causes" as you can think of.

For instance you are doing this exercise because you read about it on the shroomery.  How did you find out about the shroomery in the first place?  Did someone tell you about it?  How did that person come in to your life?  Why do you come to websites of this sort?  Who turned you on and how long ago?  What factors in your childhood inclined you to be interested in these kinds of subjects later?  Why are you doing this exercise in this room and not else where?  Why did you buy or rent this house or apartment?  Why are you in this city and not another?  Why on this continent and not another? Why are you here at all - that is, how did your parents meet? Did they consciously decide to have a child, do you happen to know, or were you an accident? What cities were they born in? If in different cities, why did they move in space time so that their paths would intersect?  Why is the planet capable of supporting life, and why did it produce the kind of life that would dream up an exercise of this sort?

And so on.

After about 20 minutes of this my brain starts to "crinkle".  Anyone have any ideas?  :sun:

I think you're referring to the "seratonin waterfall" heh that squiggley shivery feeling?

Its very similar to what happens when I complete urination, yawn, orgasm, have a revelation... that kinda thing?

Seems like the mind rewarding what it feels is "good" activity IMO.

Insert an "I think" mentally in front of eveything I say that seems sketchy, because I certainly don't KNOW much. Also; feel free to yell at me.

Now that I think about it, Terrence McKenna reported that something like this happened when he smoked DMT:

"And then there's a sound, like a piece of bread wrapper or cellophane being scrunched up and thrown away. A friend of mine says this is radio-entelechy leaving the anterior fontanelle at the top of your head. I'm not sure I want to line up with that... but a membrane is being ripped; something is being torn. "

Hmm.

hmm yeah ive herd him say that in a Shpongle song.

i know what you meana bout the seratonin waterfall.....ive always calle d that "pee chill".

ive experience the whole Kundilani energy thing where my whole spine vibrated like bolt of lightning was running up it. This was before i knew anything about meditation and i was trying to go to sleep one night. It scared the fuck out of me and it led me to read more about meditation and stuff.

I know the feeling, and I ONLY get it off a certain black hash. Generally my first hit of the day. The instant it hits my lungs I feel it shoot up my spine like lightening, and then "crink" something in my brain feels elevated/tickly/pokey/uncomfortable/great.
