walking a grassy field..(pics)
    #1633232 -

well hello all,
today i decided to take a strole with mushrooms in mind. at the point, i know i am not going to find any active mushrooms, so i just go to enjoy myself and the beautiful fungi i see and attempt to learn a bit about how to identify. these mushrooms were found in a field, there were speratic patches of only 1 or 2 mushies.

what do you guys think?

this seems to be a younger specimen.

thanks alot

forgot to mention, there was no 'mushroomy' smell, it was more stale smelling than anything.

I'm guessing Agrocybe.

Did the mushrooms have veil remnants in a ring around the stalk?

What was the stem like?  Hollow?

And did it break like chalk or was it fibrous?

Here's some photos I took of two different (but similar) Agrocybe species:

Agrocybe dura

Agrocybe praecox

Compare those to the mushrooms you found and see if they're similar.

EDIT:  changed fibrillose to fibrous.  woops!

Namaste.
