Birthed cakes were left alone for a month. What may happen?
    #16303952 -

SO
Grew for a about half a year until i started getting really busy with graduating (& making sure i do infact graduate)... which i did
however my busyness kinda screwed up my mushy operation.
basically ive had my birthed cakes sitting in  in my birthing chamber for i dont even know exactly sometime between probably 4-7 weeks
to my amazement there seems to be noooo contaminations
most of the aborts turned all white but thats all
some of the aborts look normal, just super dry
same with the cakes themselves, very very dry.
I think if I didnt slack off on em i could have gotten another flush or two out of most the cakes

what do yall think would happen if I give em another flush for about 24 hours and try to give rm one last chance at life? Think it would quickly turn to a contamination?
Think if theres no contamination now its not likely to get one?
Think theres even a possibility in getting even a single mushy out of em?

Input much appreciated

Dunk em for 6-8 hrs then roll em in verm, and see what happens,, ive had tubs dry out completely in 5 days and dunked then cased, and they fruited,, but 4-7 weeks is a long ass time,, Definately post your results

If they do show signs of contamination then throw them out.

well i just dunked em once more
due to how dry they are i think i may be better off letting em sit longer than 6-8 hours
im thinking more like 12-24
when i washed verm off the cakes right before the dunk, the lovely earthy smell that smacks you in the face from birthing a jar started to come back which i am taking as a good sign
ill keep yall updated throughout the week
fingers crossed

accidently left em dunked for about 30-36 hours  instead of 24 but they seem fine, only tossed one & it was a 1/4 pint cake
the 1/4 pint cakes (when dry) were literally so light weight they felt like ping pong balls
maybe the extra hours dunked were good for em?

Yeah, if they were in the jars for as long as you said, the extra time dunking is not going to hurt anything. However, not trying to be mean or anything but you seem to have trouble remembering when to do stuff on time haha. I'm the same way though.

It's not a bad thing at all since jars seem to grow faster when you don't bother them. But when you get to the fruiting stage you'll have to be more diligent.

what I do is set phone alarms and stuff  I'm rooting for you and your shrooms man! :goodluck:

we have life!
and death...
more death than life
but we have some life!!!!
3 noticable pins so far
4 cakes total
2 with nothing
started with about 10-12
had a lot of trich mold but that was expected
bit of cobweb too
some of the cakes i knew were not going to yield anything
i just didnt know which
also
my apartments been veryyy hot during the day lately
i need to get a new fan or something
i think that may have been part of the mold issue as well
will be back with pictures in a couple days
