Myers-Briggs personality test
    #16259792 -

Has anyone taken this? If so, what were your results? Were they accurate? I'm an INTP, and the results were pretty accurate.  Have you taken it before and after certain events in your life that changed you?

I'm always skeptical of anything that claims life is cut and dried, if it gets you a job you rock at, that's great, but it's use may well do the  opposite.

It's interesting to read about, but I don't trust it in application.

infj, things like this will be accurate because of the desirable nature of employment and where we would like to see ourselves. I think personality is just another construct.

I haven't taken one in a year or so, but out of the three or four times I've taken these in the past few years I've always come out as ENTP.

I understand myself pretty damn well. I'd say it's a fairly accurate test. But your question really depends on a persons' understanding of who they are. Someone whom thinks they are an extrovert, when they're really an introvert, will claim that the test sucks if the results for he/she came out to be introvert.

I understand myself pretty damn well.

Doesn't almost everyone say that no matter how wrong they are?:haha:

Yes, that's the dilemma. However, I didn't argue about my results. If someone were to argue about his/her results - that may elucidate the degree of his/her lack of understanding of oneself.

Yes that could be one thing but there could be the fact that the test itself is flawed.  Or that agreement with the results is wish fulfillment.

i took mine through my school for career counseling. as far as its usefulness goes, it helped me find some career options that i wasn't aware of to explore. so for me, i'm glad i took it. i think you guys expect too much from this thing. no test is ever going to be able to comprehensively define something as dynamic as an individual personality.

Taken about 5 times and always INFJ. Mine seemed pretty accurate, purely interest.

if someone thinks of themselves as an introvert the test will most likely say they are an introvert. the questions ask you about yourself, what you value, they don't get beyond what you think you are.

In the past 15 years I've gone from INTP to ENFP as I've become more aware of my emotions and have put a higher value on other people. Really I've just become aware of how much other people and my interactions with them effect me. Its always been that way, but I've only recently become aware of it.
