Cave shrooms
    #1613580 -

I stumbled across a site the other day regarding fungi found in certain caves and was interested in a certain species called Coprinus Narcoticus.

The name suggests that it is an active species although I've not heard anything about this strain before and haven't had much luck researching it via the web.

Does anyone know anything about this species ? Is it active ?

Thanks for the reply Angryshroom, I was just intrigued as to why it was named "Narcoticus"

According to http://www.bluewillowpages.com/mushroomexpert/coprinus.html
Coprinus narcoticus is a "Mushroom with a strongly unpleasant, "narcotic" smell (the mushroom, not the substrate!)."
So I guess the name comes from it's smell. I have no idea what a "narcotic smell" is though...
