Re: Anyone here just happier alone? [Re: Bundy]
    #16107003 -

I am a loner by nature, I do everything by myself, even stuff that most people would do with others (going to the movies, restaurants, whatever).
I don't even think of inviting someone to do stuff.

Then I met a girl, I gave a shot at a relationship. It lasted a year.

Ever since then I am the king of the loners. Its so much trouble having someone else. Well not trouble, but complicated.

Anyways, I gave a shot at not being alone. I liked it. But it doesn't beat being alone.

I'll stick to one night stands.

Forever alone... by choice.

I'v had my fair share of long relationships. It's not worth it man. Women seem to forget how to have fun after so long. They turn into the bitchy girlfriend that would make any man never want to marry. Been alone and lovin it for years

OP, where does that other girl fit in to this time table? your ex im speaking of.  that you encountered a few months ago..

WERE YOU THINKING OF CHEATING?! Lol

im not a stalker, im talking about a previous post. if i recall you two hung out and watched walking dead together but it didnt really go anywhere..

also, im in a similiar rut. actually the SAME rut, only difference is, it happened to me after a year, it was something that was building up in me for months n like you it just hit me that i was never truly happy. it was natural happiness. more of a forceful happiness. and although i miss her, i miss her presence, i dont miss being in the actual relationship with her.  but anyways, i was a mess from a previous relationship, and other problems in my life. i just wasnt happy, i saw this girl in the mall, went up to her, and thats how i met my ex gf.  im having a hard time breaking it off though. she is too nice, too sweet, and too innocent. i dont want to see her become this slut, so im having a hard time just letting go. in return we still fuck n hang out, n its not healthy to me. i still want to be alone without all of that, but im a pussy n cant build up the courage to be even more honest then i have been with her, and i dont know what to say to her

LOL, it was a MAN 8 years my senior. (Acted like a real bitch sometimes though) I would always say to him "you're acting like a high school girl!" (not gender bashing either, but you know high school girls/people can be)

:lolsy:  My bad.  Dudes can be just as catty.  I had a gay friend in high school growing up that had a boyfriend that seriously acted like a jealous little 12 year old girl.  It was like watching a preteen soap opera every time we all hung out together.

And that dude you're with now sounds like some friends of mine.  God forbid a puff of weed smoke get 3 feet in front of them, but bring a keg around? They'll drink half the damn thing to their self.  :what:

He is not too bad. He has smoked some with me. ( He is 38 and he says this is the first time he has done it) He says it just makes him tired. I can feel him not liking it though. And he does not want me to drive or ride my bicycle after I do smoke (I get this though, not so much my bike, but the driving). He does say it is "drugs". (the cannabis)

I am 47 and have a great deal of experience driving under the influence of cannabis/drinking/tripping (I know this is bad mmmkay, I do not condone it), so I think this factors in to me being OK to drive a little. We drive drunk all the time within 1-3 miles of my apt. when going out. I know this is a HUGE no no. I am 3 blocks from the bars here. It is nice enough to walk now, so no driving.

Depends on your definition of drunk...

1-5 drinks after a dinner and within a 2-5 hour period. I rarely get annihilated. Unless I am not going to drive and am at a house party. At bars I maintain a nice buzz, too many knuckleheads about, even at the "happy" bars.

I've driven on way more than that and haven't even been close to ending anyone's life. I guess we'd need a concrete BAC to really determine this.  Tolerance or no tolerance, if I drive on a 6 pack on an empty stomach I don't skip a beat.  I don't swerve, neglect my surroundings, or anything of the sort.  In fact it's at this point that I usually go out to re-up on beer, then that's it for the night.

In October I met a girl on OK cupid and we hit it off from the first date perfectly.  We didn't stop talking the entire time.  She's cute, funny, 420 friendly, in decent shape... all great prerequisites.  We made our dating official about 2 months later and things were going great.  Then one day I just woke up and wanted nothing to do with a relationship anymore.  I can be retarded like that sometimes so I slept on it a few nights, and I still felt the same.  I broke up with her later that day.

I felt like if I wasn't dating or in a relationship, I couldn't be happy.  Before her I was in a huge rut and after I got my head straight I decided to try the dating world again, because it's what I thought I wanted. I felt like absolute shit for putting her through that.  I gave it my all; I was really on the up and up and that day I woke up it just all left me.

It sucks she had to be the guinea pig, so to speak, but after that relationship I realized I value my freedom.  I like just being me without answering to anyone.  I still have a sex drive and all, don't get me wrong, but it was a huge moment of clarity for me that I just do not belong in a relationship, and it's a load off my mind being able to admit that to myself.  I'm more of a friends with benefits type person, and for the first time in my life I know that's ok.

I don't want a wife, don't want kids, I just want me.

Anyone else in a similar boat?  When did you realize that a relationship just wasn't for you?

You don't realise what is missing before its gone. You have to understand the big picture and not let your mind protect itself from loneliness.

I would say...sometimes.

Sometimes Im a lone wolf, sometimes Im part of a wolf pack.

The biggest up from being alone is freedom. Freedom from ridicule, freedom from judgment, responsible, negative vibes, chores, work, etc and etc.

The worst part about being along is the loneliness. I am a type of person who enjoys sharing the experience with someone. Hell, thats why I am here. If I was a total loner, I would not be a member here. Being lonely makes me depressed, and thats worst than all the negative judgement of being with a person. Its a close match thou, I would admit. Being alone a lot wears on my self-esteem.

Being in a group is rewarding for me because of a good listener and a person I can share the moment with. Those are the biggest ones. I like talking, and talking alone is weird and a little crazy (even thou I do it anyway).

If I had to choose a ratio of alone to with people, it would be 70%/30% with people. That would suit me pretty good I think.

Alone is nice....for so long.

I am my best friend, the only one I can truly count on (and even then I still fuck up)... but i am motherfuckin kewl!

So if you are an overall good person , with good morals, and have interests an hobbies and you've got "game"... money/car or truck/health, then you don't need anyone else. Your on top of the world.

I love going to shows by myself. I usually met people there, but I end up leaving by mysel when I want to - and stopping for food where I want to eat, not some vegetarian specialty store cause my stupid girl or weird hippy friend cant eat normal food.

Also, when i go to place alone, it is easier for me to pick up chicks...

So chear up - heads up - you are a good person who deserves the best, not some two-bit ho just cause you think you are lonely.
