Scottish Bands

Hey, we've got Mogwai and Boards of Canada. We've had the Incredible String Band. That's some of my favourite music.

Then there's Travis, Bell-end Sebastian etc who suck fairly majorly but they're still quite impressive. If it wasn't for those Oxford boys we'd be pissing over most English music!

Oh yes, and has anyone noticed how badly Welsh bands suck? The Manics, Catatonia, Stereophincs - that's just nasty.

I Iike belle and sebastian, as an interesting alternative to all the other crap that's about. (is it a crime as there is so much crap!?!)
Oh yeah and also the manic street cleaners, I like them a bit too.
As for the rest, they suck. there's Travis, and that band Runrig, oh yeah and aren't prefabsprout (sic?) scotish too (I do like some of their early stuff!)

I think one of the Beta Band is from Scotland...Yeah as for those boys from oxford you cant beat Ride!

Ahh yes the Beta Band, I forgot them... I really dug the Three EPs but sadly I haven't really got into their later stuff - it just doesn't sound interesting enough.

The Furries are possibly the exception that proves the rule - although my favourite performance by the frontman is on Mogwai's "Dial:Revenge". Respect for singing in Welsh too, I suppose.

I'm old school, a child of the '80s, my favorite Scottish band is still Big Country. My favorite Scottish guitar player is still Bert Jansch. Anybody actually remember either one?

Hotshots 2 took a while to grow on me but I prefer it to the 3 eps now. Seeing them live definitley aided my appreciation though!
