A QUESTION ABOUT MY FIRST HARVEST.

there are some casings around here that have begun to fruit recently. the mushrooms are mostly about three inches tall now. they came from koh samui thailand where they grow wildly. the largest cap is about 1 1/2 inches in diameter slightly convex but mostly flat. i cant see any gills popping out. there are spore deposits on the stems under the caps. some of them still have tiny peices of their veils attached to the edge of their caps. here is my question. if i pick these mushrooms( for their spores ) will it have any effect on all the other pins formings? what would that effect be?

This is my first harvest, but this the advice that I found. Generally it seems not best to pick mushrooms that are attached to other mushrooms. I've been picking ones that are growing on their own. Just make sure to be careful in handling the cake, if you do at all. Also, be sure to get the entire mushroom off by twisting it. I didn't do this for one of my picked mushrooms, so now I have to handle the casing to remove the rest of it before it starts to decompose.
