matching the ideal Hepa filter with a 465CFM blower
    #15994975 -

To help take my sterile environments to the next level of seriousness I'm starting a Laminar flow hood project.
This may be putting the cart before the horse, but I recently acquired a 465CFM squirrel cage blower fan for a decent price.

I understand the basic math based on the assumption that the desired end result output from the filter is roughly 100CFM.
I know that a 24X24 filter would require a basic 400CFM..which the blower should do fine with.
My concern/worry is the calculation of the other variables like pressure drop and impedance of a pre-filter.

so lets say I have 3 possible HEPA filters I could buy
A)  24X24X12 rated: 1900 CFM

B)  18x24x11.5  no extra stats

C)  15X15X6 rated: 462 CFM @ 1.0 WG (PRESSURE DROP: 0.22WG @ 90FPM)

oddly enough each can be found within $20 of each other
assuming the same quality of materials and efficiency, which would be most suitable?
I do not plan on using any type of rheostat to dial down the motor below its recommended native speed.

wish me luck trying to remember old shop class skills when I try to construct the box.

you wont want a or b A: is rated at 1900 CFM wayy to high B: with thickness is probably the same C:  is the best bet but a little small with a 465 cfm blower it should be good for a 12x24 filter but it will depend on the perormance of it a Static pressure of the Filter, but 465 CFM is small for a 24x24 filter,,
