Migraines, Bruxism, Vomiting, Hiccups
    #15975295 -

I've had a slew of health shit that's been chronic over the past decade.  That's way TLDR though.  Yesterday, I woke up to my daughter on the baby monitor.  When I started climbing the stairs to her room, my head began throbbing with a pain I can't describe because it was so intense it was unlike anything I'd felt before... normal thinking was just completely non-existent.  I managed to move very slowly when changing her and bringing her back downstairs.  Right away I took two ibuprofen and a 200mg caffeine pill... just that tiny sip of water to swallow the pills triggered a vomit chain that would ultimately cause my head to get so bad I sat on the bathroom floor, hands over my ears, and my eyes squinted shut.  It took a while to realize I was clenching my jaw ridiculously hard the entire time as well.

After I puked a few more times, I slowly made my way to the couch and sent my wife a text asking her to call my work because I needed to call an ambulance.  My vision was blurry and the pain freaked me the fuck out.  I ended up realizing the ambulance/doctors would be sensory hell if I called 911, so I took half a caffeine pill and a chewable aspirin, then laid on my couch doing relaxation techniques.  The pain got much better once the the caffeine/aspirin kicked in, but the throbbing pain was still there with my pulse.

Got in to see my GP, who gave me a shot of Toradol and 4, 10mg quick dissolving Maxalt pills(which are triptans).  He instructed me to only take 2 a day, despite the packaging indicating 3 is the max, but I think it was in case this stuff didn't work and more diagnostics had to be done.  He told me to see him today if shit got worse, or see him in two days if it didn't completely go away.

I've been up for an hour now, and woke up with a headache 75% of what I had yesterday.  I immediately took a Maxalt, drank some coffee, and took a naproxen.  My head feels much better now, but this is fuckin shitty.  From what I've read, a lot of people have good success with triptans, even if they need to use more than one to get it right.  It just didn't do much for me at all... except make me nauseated even more/leave me feeling slightly impaired cognitively.  I'm fumbling over words like an idiot.

Probably just a migraine, but do any of you have migraines?  All of these symptoms popped up yesterday, including hiccups that keep coming back every few hours, and idk wtf I'm going to do when I'm working in 100 minutes.

:crankey:

I'm sorry about your troubles. how often do you dose caffeine pills? It seems like you use to it to manage your symptoms.
I know caffeine can cause symptoms of that you described.

Yeah, they definitely can cause rebound headaches.  I'll have the one or two cups of coffee/tea in the morning, but yesterday I tried taking a caffeine pill only because of my vomiting.

Took my third Maxalt pill this morning since my migraine was still there, but the side-effects from the triptan were too much today... cognitively I felt like a fucking idiot, chest pain that radiated to my back, and shortness of breath.  Had to go back to the doctor and get a shot of ketorolac.  That seems to have helped so far but if my head hurts tomorrow I have to go back.  Also, they referred me to a rheumatologist for other shit that has been going on for years.

Yay for chronic pain.
