Re: 2012 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport [Re: Liquid_Dimension]

The Bugatti SS has more than a 1000 BHP, ain't it up north of 1200 with the SS.

The cost is irrelevant really.  Sure it cost like $2MM but it cost VW something around $5MM to make each.  So they are loosing money on each example.

The LFA is over-priced and many years too late.  I like what Lexus did in only offering these cars for Lease and not sale.  You have to lease the car for Two Years before you can buy it.  They did it this way to avoid people buying them and then reselling them at a mark-up for max Profits.

As for the Dodge Viper, they don't even make those new.  Ain't the one pictures an ACR Viper.

The Aerial Atom V8 is a Fucking blast to drive and is quicker than the Bugatti around the smaller courses.  That is for sure a Track Rats car.

Personally when I get into my first six figure car it will be a Porsche 911 Twin Turbo.  The Bugatti can go 0-60mph in 2.5 seconds.  The last 911 Turbo S with launch control and Double Clutch transmission can go 0-60 in 2.6 seconds, and its far cheaper than the Bugatti. And it  Won't break like an Italian super car.

veyron is a beast in top speed, but its a piggy in the handling department.

I'm big on handling,a Ariel atom V8 goes 0-60 in under 3sec.Around a track i think it'll spank the veyron (that is if its full of twisties and not alot of straightways),due to its power to weight ratio it has the same power as a veyron

I think the Nürburgring Nordschleife track offers the best of both worlds, its more of an industry standard really.  And the current fastest lap is held by a Pagani Zonda R.

The Nordschleife is the Automotive industry's Acid Test.

Hope that Zonda has a Nose-Lift system.

Getting back to the Veyron, you can find used examples for less than a million.  Seen them go as low as $795K.  Which I would much rather do something else with money like that.

And I'm watching the Daytona Caution-Flag 500!!!!!!!  At the moment.

Also forgot to add that Bugatti will be coming out with a Four Door Saloon soon.

whilst the interior of that car looks like shex and would get plenty of it (leather is just utterly fucking the most amazing fabric apart from fur. And no, I do get to be enthusiastic about these things. Fuck you. You sit inside that car and tell me that it wouldn't feel nice) and yeah sitting in that would be a blast I'd prefer, in terms of handling and sheer balls to the ground thrills of a caterham 7 fireblade (if we must go for four wheels. Imo, those monowheel motorbikes look both insane and fun)

what's the claimed top speed?

I'd prefer a ferrari though, doubt I would ever top it out... going 250 or whatever the veyron will do is a death sentence.

Depends on which engine you want. There was one done with a honda fireblade engine. I for one, rather liking Honda's engineering in regards to the CG-125 (an excellent bike, it will not break down. Reliable as a klashnikov) and bung it into a classic racing car chassis.

It's worth a read, this car, in terms of acceleration, there's few things that'll beat it. Don't even think the konigsegg can outdo it's 0-100 speed, well, in the modern engines. If it's a lotus twin cam from the 1950's that's not going to have the power.
