option of the manual than you do for the automatic

some vehicles I prefer a standard, others an automatic



Not in my experience, always less unless it's a high-end car...
And the resale value is lower than automatic.

Got top dollar for it because it worked fine, just needed a scrub. Also, 97' is about the prime year for cars with faulting transmissions these days. Take into account that the S10 transmission is the same as that in most chevy, gmc, saturn, pontiac, etc small cars and trucks, and you have yourself quite the market for the piece.

Also of note....my father runs a transmission shop, so I got a good deal.

I fucking love my manual transmission jeep wrangler. I can do all of the irresponsible things drivers of automatics do like eat, smoke, and talk on the phone just as easily. I have more control over my engine with a manual trans, and it keeps me better focused on my car. What's not to like there?

Ahh I gotcha. I have a 99 Sonoma that I paid a few hundred for. Maybe I should just part it out and buy a new truck :hehehe:

I see trannys on Craigslist go for 500 all the time. I should grab a few of them
