new cars

What is up with the styling of cars coming out today? Im seeing hyundais and dodge ram pickups and Chryslers that have bmw headlights on them. Im a big car nut, especially European cars. I just think American cars just plainly suck, their heyday passed way back in the 80's when board meetings began dictated styling and quantity became more important than quality. Why copy the Euros? a company like BMW, Mercedes,Jjaguar and such have to maintain their look and feel because people who are accustomed to buying such vehicles expect a certain amount of quality, refinement and tradition. However most American companies and some smaller ones, like Hyudai and even Honda aren't held back buy tradition, I don't see why these companies just can't break out into something new and unexpected, something revolutionary. Those of you who are into cars no doubt have seen the new 7 series from BMW, yeah, a lot of people have said the car looks hideous, me included, but give it a year or two and you will find other companies copying its huncthback syling. And what about cost cutting? even in the most prestigious cars, like Bentley, which was purchased by VW in 98. The new Continental takes its chassis, suspension, engine, transmisson and electronics from the upcoming VW Phaeton luxury sedan which is going to be sold in America. Even it's looks, which to me is unimaginative, looks like a large Audi TT (another VW subsidiary) . It's truly sad to say that they don't make cars like they used to.

Wee, sleeket, cowran, tim'rous beastie,
O, what panic's in thy breastie!
Thou need na start awa sae hasty,
Wi' bickering brattle!
