Mac book pro - Or Microsoft PC?

Honestly, what's better?

My Sony Vaio lasts like 2-3 hours off the charger.

I heard a mac book pro lasts like 7.

My Vaio is a year old now, and needs to be plugged in 24/7 or it dies too quickly.

Mac book pro says the battery stays at 7 hour length for 1,000 charges ( about 5 years )

To me, it sounds like the Mac book pro is the best laptop.

What do you guys think is better?

Macs suck, they are overpriced and underequiped. Of course windows has its issue too but it's a better OS. In my opinion current laptop technology available to the public is a joke. U can't get a good lasting laptop withought shelling out some serious cash and that's why I only own a desktop now.

Of course some people need a laptop and in that case there are reasonable options available but I'd highly suggest getting the best warranty you can afford.

buy an HP G60 for like 50$ at a pawn shop, get rid of windows and install linux, it runs beautifully and comes with an ath5k.:boobs:

I have to disagree with this; With Apple you pay for a band name and a shiny computer, there's nothing fundamentally wrong with Apple products, its that they are overpriced for what you get.

I concur with the new battery suggestion.

Apple computer are somewhat overpriced, but not as much as most people make it out to be.  The construction quality is higher than any other laptop out there by a LONG shot, except MAYBE Lenovo.

The screens are HANDS DOWN the best.  The screen on an Apple computer is a couple hundred dollars more expensive than a cheaper computer.  The trackpad on a Mac is unrivaled by any other laptop - nothing even comes REMOTELY close.  That being said, you can do far better (specwise) for less money.

And no, Windows is certainly not a better OS than OS X.  Windows is fundamentally flawed in so many ways, OS X is a great OS.  For me, a huge part of a laptop is portability, ie being able to comfortably use the trackpad.  That, among the other things I said, sways me towards them.  Until another company makes a trackpad that even comes anywhere near an Apple, I will probably buy another when my current MBP dies.

my mate got a macbook pro a few months ago, already the SD card slot and one of the USB slots has stopped working.

I asked him how much he paid for it

£1000.

I asked him if he likes to take it up the arse without lube. He understood.

what makes the mac screen better?

unless you're dropping several hundred extra on a macbook you're getting a
slower system that uses the computers ram for graphics just like many
laptops. only the high end macbooks come with a dedicated graphics card.
the PC laptops are no different, some have high resolution screens and
dedicated graphics cards while others dont and you'll still save a fuckton
of cash for that over the macbook

Whats better for performance? Mac obviously.
That doesn't mean its better for the price though..

Macs OSX is made wayyyyy stabler and better then windows, i've used windows computers for 5+ years just recently switched to mac and i loved it so much after i bought my macbook i went out and bought a 27" powerful iMac and i am very very pleased with my apple products, they're made elegant, sturdy and just down right good quality piece of machine. It's very user friendly and hell.. they're so much more better then windows THEY DONT HAVE VIRUSES!! yes thats correct not 1 virus for a mac, never have to worry about them unlike windows shitty designed operating system

really? because what I've noticed over the years is that as a platform gets more popular some jackass decides to write a virus for it
