Are you using one or two garden hoses on the humidifier?

Two, straight from the humidifier to the tank. 5/8" ID... 7 1/4" exhaust holes on the other side. Not a super large tank... Around 30 gallons, maybe? Thanks.

Nope, it's that damn small KaZ model everyone has... Just like the one in SG's picture, only a newer model that looks a bit sleeker. I just can't figure out what's up. There is no reason the humidity shouldnt be up to par... The terrarium is airtight except for the exhaust holes... I never fill the water level above the fill line in the humidifier... Hmmm.... I'm going to try using one of those blow-by vaporizer thingies Torsaides talked about in some post a while ago... Apparently he has the same problem and that fixed it... But still, why does no one else have it?

One more question (and sort of a bump ) Are B+ caps generally a darkish brown? I'm used to growing EQs which have very light caps.... Thanks!

ok, the humidity is low we all agree. I have had success casing once(third try) and here is how... cool mist(kaz) with 2 hoses some h202 in the kaz (10% to 20%) also perlite in bottom a wire rack on perlite(more evaporation surface)from the perlite I also used a drip shield to super-humidify the chamber for when i wouldnt be around for a day.I would spray the shield with a fine mist, this mist humidifies the air. Make sure you have proper water level in the perlite (about 50% but all must be wet at least(i stir it with my hand) the beauty of the clumps of b+ were absolutely awesome and large, i feel they enjoyed the high humidity (3 sources although not always at same time)the birdseed substrate also contributed to their health. I need to get pics developed soon, 30 shrooms coming out of a single clump, it was hard to remove the cluster,oh well, I dealt with the problem...

Do you have a lot of loops or are you running the hose in straight? With a larger tank I would assume the greater amount of air to move and humidify at the same time would tell one to run the hose closer to straight in.

Thanks for the help guys, but I think everything is Ok now... jetlag's use of perlite with a cool mist got me searching the boards for both, and I dixcovered one of Torsades and MAd Prophet's post a while back. They described an "in-line" vaporizer which I tried. Basically, it's a jug full of perlite and water with an input from the cool mist in the lid and an output to the terrarium in the bottom. There's still no condensation, and the casings are still pulling away from the edges of the cups/trays, but everything is fruiting fine. Probably a little dry, but I gues it's ok...?? Learner, I basically do have them running straight in there.... maybe only 1.25' of hose for heach output. Thanks again, though!
