i'm surprised you would repeat conjecture as though it had real weight on the safety of MXE.

teams of scientists that do millions of dollars of research for years and years and years don't know all the effects of drugs they release to market.

You think one guy's guess about MXE's safety has value because he made it?

How do you mean? I'm not parrotting anyone. What I stated are general facts about how the body handles particular molecular groups and arylcyclohexylamines in general.

Original material, not a cut and paste that I took somewhere.

Maybe you're quoting from a different source, but i've heard all that repeated over and over from the vice article.

Dunno man.  I haven't looked in like half a year, but i remember not even being able to find basic animal studies with MXE.

There is nothing implying its safe at all, except people that take it feel okay.

I'm using my knowledge of pharmacology to pick that molecule apart, not quoting a source.

Find it. I never saw all that information bundled in one place, except in the post I made minutes earlier in ODD where I did the exact same thing with the 2C-E molecule.
I'm not quoting.

You're correct. I was thinking of stuff i read on bluelight.

I just saw some people in chatroom say mxe was safer than ketamine.

I dunno.  I realize there is no reason to argue.  I'm being a worrier, and i just won't do it.

Just saying, ketamine is pretty much the safest mind altering chemical there is, on par with weed.  I think there are more clinical reports of weed causing mental illness than ketamine.

Even with 50 years of heavy use and study all across the world, they still don't understand all of ketamine's mechanism of action, or long term effects on the brain.

Look at 2ci vs 2ce
amt-vs 5-meo-amt
2c-t-7 vs the others.

Something this different that ketamine, personally i'm not trusting random theory, when professionals who do a shit ton of testing still wind up wrong a lot.

I think its pretty morally irresponsible to imply MXE is in anyway safe, other than it probably won't give you cardiac or respiratory problems.
No one is doing cognitive testing of people using it as far as i know, its pretty well known anecdotally people taking drugs don't realize how its effecting them.  Even a slight long term change in behavior or cognition would be significant.

I dunno, brock out dudes whatever i dun care.

I have the exact same opinion on RCs, teamkiller.  I only partake once in a blue moon.  My earlier posts in this thread make it seem like I do MXE a lot but I've taken it 5 times in total over the course of 3-4 months.  I'm not down with getting fucked up on RCs more than rarely for the reasons you've said here and in other threads.

If the government would at least re-schedule illegal drugs and allow more widespread clinical testing without the scientists having to jump through hoops to do so, we would have a lot more information than we do now.  Until then all we have is semi-informed conjecture and word-of-mouth, which is dangerous.

if i had enough money and time i'd get a few dozen mice and try to figure out the LD50. it wold be a messy, sad, depressing process but would provide some very useful information.

ya, when you break it down

RCs are most definately unsafe

and danlemon defiantly broke it down for me earlier

abusing any substance *could* be harmful to your body

let me note that ive been experiencing persistent diminishing abdominal pain for the past few weeks as a result of heavy abuse... tread lightly

we were speculating earlier in the chat that it could have been a contaminant in the specific batch(es) that caused this reaction, plausible, unverifyable

NO WAI DUUD! Using ketamine and analogs is a less harmful way of anesthesia, on par with severe alcohol binging and huffing solvents. If you do not take addiction into account its MUCH safer to use a dose of heroin than a dose of ketamine.

Abuse ketamine and the like too much, and like severe alcoholics, like gasoline huffers, you are going to become a tard for the rest of your life.

Quote:

Its not at all morally irresponsible to show the parts of the molecule that are open to metabolism, and point out the fact that a MXE binge generally involves a lot less milligrams of the stuff than a ketamine binge.

I never said MXE is safe. just that it is likely of reduced risk to PCP and probably of reduced risk to Ketamine if one binges on it.

You however put Ketamine "on par with weed" as for potential harm.

These are DANGEROUS drugs, all of them. they lead to delusional episodes under the influence, impaired physical coordination, impaired judgement, personality changes and are much more prone to trigger psychotic episodes in the susceptible than classical psychedelics are. Like alcohol & solvents, there is potential for brain damage. These drugs can be HIGHLY psychologically addictive.

hi, somehow i forgot to respond to this.  You're totally wrong, and nigged.

heavy ketamine use has not been found to impair functioning once discontinued.

unlike classic psychedelics, ketamine doesn't cause long term psychotic episodes.  Yes if you take alot, you'll get very high and act crazy.  its because you took a drug.
There are very close to 0 reports of ketamine triggering any latent mental illnesses in a clinical setting, which can't even be said about alcohol lol.

You're just totally wrong on your facts.

You're talking about one of the most widely used and studied psycho-active drugs in the world.

Yes, if you use 3g of ketamine every day for a year, your bladder will probably be fucked.  I would like to state here i'm not encouraging anyone to become heavily addicted to ketamine, and spend all their waking hours extremely fucked out of their minds for a year.

I honestly can't believe i once thought you were a voice of reason here.  Go ahead, keep (incorrectly) espousing the dangers of ketamine, while telling people a drug you buy on the internet, produced by people who manufacture it with no oversight, that was designed by some random guy, with no health studies, might be in some way comparable health wise.

I dont have any solid knowledge about this subject but I will offer my insight. Before I started using mxe I had a great memory and I was a little depressed but not very badly. After use for the past year (averaging dosing once every two weeks) I feel tired all the time, I am very depressed, I cant remember anything and just I always have no motivation and feel like shit. I have been off mxe for two weeks now and I am not planning on taking any more.

could that perhaps have something to do with that ganja you have been smuggling lately?

To say its even possibly safe is ridiculous. As i mentioned earlier, If TEAMS of chemists with super computers and hundreds of millions of dollars of funding can go through clinical trials, get a drug approved, then find its not safe, how in any way does it make sense to say some random shit someone dreamed up and slapped together could even be possibly safe?

Quote:
A significant amount of a by-product (impurity) was
produced during the synthesis of methoxetamine.  The FTIR
(Figure 12a) of the synthesis impurity indicated that a carbonyl
was present and its mass spectrum (Figure 12b) indicated a
molecular weight of 247.  The impurity was easily isolated
from methoxetamine HCl by its solubility in acetone...

The isolated impurity was characterized as
[1-(ethylamino)cyclopentyl](3-methoxyphenyl)methanone

Do you know what [1-(ethylamino)cyclopentyl](3-methoxyphenyl)methanone is?  i sure as fuck don't.  That was the major impurity found in the 1 NMR/GCMS i found for mxe.

also

MAJOR LOLS, mxe users are reporting the same bladder problems as ketamine users.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.  Whoops.

Do ANY of these analogues or any type of dissociative have the same taste that ketamine does? I recently tripped harder than I have ever tripped from a combination of psychedelics and a dissociative that tasted EXACTLY like K. I think it was K, but because The effects were SOOOO unique with the combination, Im just curious to find out if any other dissociatives resemble the taste of ketamine.

MXE definitely tastes like K but something about it is a little sweeter, IMO. Or maybe I'm biased because I like it more, hard to say. :strokebeard3:
