Anyone ever have to retap toggle hole for All American cooker?
    #15413547 -

I got the toggle valve for an all american pressure cooker, screwed it in and it broke (the toggle valve)- the threaded portion remained in the lid and I couldnt remove it so I got one of those tap removers from the hardware store... THAT wouldnt budge the remains of the toggle valve, so no there is a metalic mess in the lid where the toggle valve should be screwed in and Im at wits end trying to figure out how to salvage this lid.

Its a shame cause there's lots of pressure cooking to be done, and Im left with only one cooker.

Any ideas how to remedy this situation?  Was going to go back to store and ask them how to go about re-tapping the hole, but Im a little concerned as we are dealing with a high pressure apparatus and the slightest imperfection could potentially cause a bit of chaos.

Couldn't find anything using search engine.

Thanks in advance!

I am surprised that you are unable to remove the remaining portion.

Could you drill it out while leaving the threads intact?  You might
be able to screw the remainder out.

I hope for good news.
