Hoping for feedback on outdoor azurescens plan

Hi, I was hoping for feedback on this hypothetical plan for cultivating outdoor azurescens in the PNW. This is meant to be fairly basic and easy and cheap. I'm sure better results could be obtained from adding more steps and using teks that are more complicated, but I'm not there yet, so please keep that in mind when giving feedback. In particular I'm hoping for feedback on the potted environment and if it should be sufficient.

The plan consists of 2 approaches:

Plan 1) Germinating spore prints in salt/sugar/water broth and using that to inoculate a couple outdoor pots (inspired by the "bonsai azurescens" produced by another poster on this site).
- Pots will be filled with a mixture of nutritious garden soil and soaked, non-sterile wood chips (10/90)
- Germinated spores will be dumped onto the soaked wood chips
- a 6 inch or so deep "casing layer" made up of garden soil with a few wood chips will be added to the top, with ornamental grasses and summer flowers planted in that layer
- Pot will be put in a shady spot that gets all-day indirect sunlight and could be watered easily in the summer

Plan 2) Germinating an azure syringe in BRF cakes, transferring colonized cakes to sterilized wood chips, then using wood chip spawn to inoculate an outdoor bed in the wild, a spot on a beautiful river that is private.
- Ground would be dug up several inches with wood chips and spawn added
- Covered with some more dirt, leaves, debris etc
- Hopefully being near a river will keep the bed moist during the summer, and the azures will hopefully even spread in the wild

Basically I'm looking for anything obvious I'm missing, or if these plans are likely to work. I get the impression from my research that azures like to be in contact with the environment and actually benefit from contact with soil organisms and such.

Also, what is good timing? I've read that it's best to start the spawn in Jan/Feb for outdoor inoculation in March/April, but why not start now (at least with the salt/sugar broth one, obviously the BRF cakes will take longer)? This is when the spores would naturally be germinating and spreading, right?

both plans are good, mind you i would spray that broth EVERYWHERE not just a pot.

i haven t had success in a pot yet, but i do have 2 cyan patches that i sprayed wood chip beds and they fruited this year. so it does work. but the more ground you cover i think the more chance of success with that approach.

once you have mycelium , you can just grow it all year on unsterilized wood chips and cardboard. its sweet. its a really vigorous species. than you can noc up bonsai pots like i did or anything for that matter. :thumbup:
