I am glad you used the term framework.
It's a thing you have to explore.
From different points within this framework, you can see what grows and what dies; you can see the parts, the flux, and the totality.

Until you get a good sense of the framework, it makes sense just to do regular housekeeping - but when you get into it, you can begin cultivating what grows and pruning what dies.

Eventually that also becomes regular housekeeping, but you need to keep exploring this framework, because it is anything but static.
