JUST Experienced Psychadelically Induced Ego Loss

I'm writing this within two minutes of the event, so I'f I don't make too much sense, please forgive me. It seems that to write from this state is much more difficult - too much of a step down!
Ego death had a considerable amount of pain and agitation to start. The self consumed in the fire of truth produces much anziety. But as the self disolves a core of love is revealed and you as this core of love are released from this anziety (ego) into the consuming fire of love.
This experience now leads me to believe that all that will remain of me after death is the consciousness of love. Everything else will be burned off by the purifying fire of love that is the face of God.

Albino_Jesus: No. I personally never have, and most certainly never will. Source, welcome to the truth, traveller. It is a long, strange road from here. Psychadelics may remove the blindfold, but the truth is hideous.

Thanks daba and Kottonmouth. I wanted to write about it as soon as I could. Have you seen those Buddhist depictions of the gurards of the temple gates? Or Hinduism's 'Kali the Destroyer' (fierce, but with the hand gesture of 'have no fear')? Or even the Judeo-Christian concept of the guard with the flaming sword at the entrance to Eden? I understand now what they represent. They represent what the ego perceives as it heads toward it's final destruction. Only consciousness can pass through, the rest is destroyed. A truly frightening sight indeed. The fierceness of the experience is enough to want to turn and run away (back to the wheel of birth and death). But they are the guardians to the 'holy of holies'. If you have no fear, you can make it through - although what makes it through isn't really you.

MollyDolly,
Yeah, I 'knew' it too. But to experience it is a totally different matter (not that you haven't).

it makes sense that after ego, there's only love. Like when someone truly loves someone else (if you believe in this kind of thing ) and they'd be willing to die for them... doesn't that seem like a lack of ego?
A little romantic for my taste, but thought I'd share that.

I believe that the ego is a functional necessity of experience and thus it is not possible to experience ego loss.

ego is only a necessity for 3rd dimension focus in the beta brainwave, it is but a protective mask for focused, physical reality.

I suspected that the post was intended to appeal to some emotional sense in order to evade logical analysis, but I wanted to give him a chance to be taken seriously instead of deriding his post right away.

I am saying that ego is only a function of focused material reality.. it is a mental construct of the sense of 'self' or individual subjective reality and the need to protect it. When one is sleeping ego is not present. Furthermore "ego" is only at it's strongest in the "BETA" brainwave, which composes the bulk of our waking reality; such as when we are having a conversation, shaking someone's hand, requires a certain focus on material reality. This state is ego dominant. As we go into alpha or meditative state we see that ego can become transparent or similar. With the theta and delta resting and sleeping states ego is not present. It is my theory that ego is a tool, a mental filter if you will, a necessary lens for the subjective experience on the physical realm, but it is certainly not a pre-requisite for experience, as experience can be gained on many planes of existence, completely devoid of any trace of ego. Ego is just a natural function of the human brain in the 3rd dimension, a manifestation of our fears in a way.. but the point is not ego death, but ego transcendence, as it is a part of us for a reason...like everything... to be learned from.

you mean you are glad that your ego thinks it doesn't. Just because you are not experiencing something does not mean it does not exist.

so says your ego.

Ego loss is crazy...I never know what to think of it. On one hand it seems "right" and like something I "know" while it's happening...but as soon as I come back, I start to wonder if it was just a result of being way too fucked up. It's definately a unique and spiritual experience to say the least.
