Making Mimosa Hostilis based inkjet inks for desktop printer?

Hey Now!
I am interested in making Mimosa Hostilis-based inkjet inks. Mimosa Hostilis is traditionally (and legally) used as a dye, so I would be utilizing those properties.

I know they make inkjet refills where you buy bulk ink and then take a syringe and fill it into your empty cartridge.

I know the inks probably have a specific gravity and density and I don't want to throw that off too far. So I don't want to make a liquid extraction of the mimosa and then add that into the bulk ink because adding in the water will mess with the composition of the ink-liquid. And that might make it print poorly or not at all.

I was thinking of soaking some powdered root bark in the red and maybe the black inks for a few days, and then straining through a coffee filter to remove particulates. Then just taking the syringe and filling the cartridge with the mimosa ink. Something like that...Thoughts?

I know some people here may have a good working knowledge of printers, so...
