Scientific Creationism
    #15287274 -

Anyone familiar with the scientific ideas behind creationism?  I've spent so much time ignoring the fundy christian nut job ideas of their creator god that I had forgotten that there is a scientific challenge to Darwin's theory of Evolution.  Unfortunately I don't know a lot about it but the idea of the Bacterium Flagellum Motor
has got me interested in this idea. How do we account for this structure of seemingly irreducible complexity?  It seems to challenge the idea that natural selection is responsible for it's creation.  Can anyone speak to this? Hopefully in somewhat lay terms.  I'm very interested.

I guess I should just say that it's ridiculous for me or you or any of us here to have a debate about scientific issues of which none us (maybe I'm wrong) are experts.  Watching a two minute video on youtube is meaningless compared to the years of studying biology, which is required to really understand the issue.  If you listen to what the vast majority of scientists say, creation theory has absolutely no credibility.  Most scientists say that there is no reason to believe in a "creator".  It annoys me when people use scientific language to advance ideas that are completely rejected by the scientific community.

In The God Delusion, Richard Dawkins talks a lot about irreducible complexity.  Unfortunately I've went and forgotten most of it.
