I wouldn't consider anything other than a Macbook, or a Thinkpad.

Whats so bad about alienware laptop? they look pretty fancy to me... And I dont know how to use macs... Id rather use something like microsoft or whatever

Spending that much on a laptop is such a waste.. buy one for 800 and spend the rest on the sound system.

Eh im tired of dealing with slow computers and having them freeze and what not.. anything is better then the one i have now. But Id like somehting with ALOT of memory on it because i tend to have tons of songs and movies and some games installed

Alienware might be for you. On the other hand, you could get a respectable notebook like a Thinkpad.

I still dont get whats so bad about alienware? I mean i wouldnt bring it out in public, just use it around the house.. I was looking at the macbook pro and that looks alright

Alienware is a troll subsidiary of a respectable company.


They make stuff for "PC gamers", but most actual gamers don't take them seriously.

They sell "gaming laptops". As if such a concept wasn't illogical enough...you don't even game?

Same here, but 2k is too low of a budget for a good mbp, yet would get you a phenomenal thinkpad... w/ budget in mind, go w/ the thinkpad.

MBA 13.3" is better value IMO than a low end MBP.  They were refreshed very recently, and have an SSD and higher screen res.

If you're going to game, then yeah, Alienware are some of the best you can get straight out of the box.

But you said you're not even going to game on it, so i'd steer way clear of those. There's more power in those than you would ever need.

True. I considered this but went with the MBP so I could use a firewire recording interface, that was my primary reason for getting a mac anyway; audio.

But the solid state drives are super fast and reliable which is awesome.

Check out the Razer Blade



They kind of over-hype it but it is pretty awesome.

I have also owned an alienware laptop in the past, it lasted a long time and i loved it, was worth every penny.
