piracetam and alcohol--weird

so iv heard that piracetam can potentiate the effects of
good ol alcohol


well about 6 hours ago i had 2 grams of piracetam with 250mg cdp-choline


about 1 hour ago i had 2 sam-adams Octoberfest(normal brew)

right now im not really buzzed but im noticing myself making mistakes all
over the place but my mind is sharp as if i drank water
its like my muscles are doing there own thing


anyone else have any exp with piracetam and alcohol?

yeh for me it potentiates it a lot. despite what you commonly read though, a lot of people actually prefer piracetam without any choline source, except for maybe some lecithin. i personally can't stand taking it with choline anymore, that could be your problem but idk for sure

why cant you stand to take it with choline anymore man?

i get kinda sleepy and brain fogged if i dont take choline

dfon't need it. i like the effect much better without. it didn't bother me for a long time but your system will build up choline overtime

i've been on piracetam so long that i never need over a gram a day anymore

Huh, what does it do? I always take 500mg (in two doses) of choline a day and I haven't noticed any undesirable effects. (Usually take piracetam 1-3 times a day.)

while we're on the subject of nootropics you guys should seriously check out the herb Bacopa Monnieri. shit is absolutely amazing, in my experience at least

well i used to take like 2g piracetam + 500mg choline citrate 3 times a day everyday for a long time and never really had any problems. then somewhere along the line i started getting more and more side effects and i just couldn't tolerate that much of the material anymore. so i cut it down to maybe 1g piracetam i think, still keeping the choline. then somewhere along the line i realized how irritable the shit was making me and i read somewhere on www.imminst.org that piracetam actually works better without choline unless you really really need it.. most people don't. as soon as i cut it out virtually ever negative side effect ceased, unless i take too much piracetam. now that i've been on it forever i can't even take more than 1, 1.5 g's a day max without it being too much. so i guess it gets cost effective in the long run that way

something you should definitely try man is ALCAR (acetyl-l-carnitine.) you could throw the choline out of the mix and the alcar would take care of it without the side effects. alcar is amazing on its own anyway, it's supposed to have great anti-aging effects and i can personally vouch for its radical boosts in both cognition and energy. it's best mixed with alpha lipoic acid, a potent antioxidant produced naturally, or found naturally (can't remember which) in the body. you can buy a bottle of 50 of the two combined at wal-mart for like 8 bucks, or buy it in bulk. i need to pick up some more of it, haven't had any in awhile. it's the shit for exercise

Huh, I'll have to try withdrawing the choline, I've been on it for a while (and also noticed a bit of crankiness lately).

That other thing sounds neat too :grin:

alcar is dope, and bacopa is great. wouldn't go without that one. it's memory enhancing effects are very noticeable after you've been on it for about 5 weeks and just keep getting better and better. not to mention it is a strong antioxidant and protects your brain cells from the effects of stress, among many many other benefits
