No, I don't have one, I want one! I know after looking REAL hard at the micron magick mycology market's 'Syringe Maker' uses something real close to the pressure release valve on my mirro pc (sorry guys - should have sold me the plugs when I offered ) but - I don't want to order 'em quite yet, because with the beautiful concept of peer review available on the shroomery, I figured I'd see if anyone else had figured out a concept that works better and cheaper - and yes, I'm making a product similar to the product those guys are selling, but as soon as it is done, it will be 1.) better 2.) almost free 3.) available to every other dude who shops at wal-mart (I hope) whattya got? Electrical tape doesn't cut it for me anymore.

This guy I know just uses polyfill...is this not enough? I saw this and was wondering how self-healing it would behave.

polyfill and tyvek will work, or just use the polyfill as something to let it breathe and have a seperate innoc. hole and tape it. easy and cheap.

Just order the red septums from a medical supply. They're really cheap and they are designed for ampoules like steroids come in. They come in different grades. The red is a general septum. There are others and they all have different self healing properties.

A blob of window/fish tank sealant allowed to dry makes a good self healing injection port over pretty much and premade hole or injecterbal surface ime

Last time the guy, making sure the needle had cleared the bottom, injected right through the polyfill. Is this unadvisable? Thanks. -Che

That's a good fucking idea... which worked pretty well, too. I decieded on using my personal favorite, Plumber's GOOP, and tested it - I jammed a blunt tip syringe in and out of it like 35 times before it gave out, but i was able to remove the whole plug and replace it with another drop of sealant....Beautiful. Thanks a lot, buddy! I'll post pictures of this cheap little tool that works wonders here in a bit, after I pull a clean print off of it.

Well...bandaid spot patches work good as injection ports and air exchange. 5 bucks for 65....you cant go wrong. People deny that they work....but ive had great success so far.

Well, after some 'inquiry' in my Cuban prison, 6T coughed up a great link for bona fide injection ports - this place sends you a bunch in assorted sizes for the low low price of $2.00! These are what I was looking for: Self-Sealing Injection Ports! What a great guy, that SixTango... Edit: I guess this is what SKSguy was talking about.. could have given me a link though, buddy!

Yeah but it isn't a $2.00 purchase. You'll notice you have to buy at least $10 worth before shipping, so with the $5.95 S&H you have to spend a minimum of $16.95. I guess if you are serious it's a good deal, but if you are still just learning or not making a big production out of it, $16.95 is a lot to spend for 240 rubber stoppers that may take a long time to use. Say, anyone want to go in on splitting up a big order?

You'll notice that they have other shit that you might want to invest in, buddy - there's a shitload more at that site then rubber stoppers.

Umm.. whatever happened to a daub of silicon on the injection sites in your jar lids?? That works perfectly, and it's easy to replace once it's worn out, AND it prevents rust.
Try it.

Dude, not only do you get a shitload for the price of a tube of silicone, but they're pretty too

Actually I looked all over that site and didn't find anything else of interest besides the rubber stoppers. Lab glass? More gloves? Centrifuge? These are not really things you need unless you're starting some big operation.

Right on.....I think maybe the silicon blob is worth a try. Seems everytime one spends $10-$15 on some kinda supplies, it becomes a bigger and bigger investment

Be sure to cure it in open air for a few weeks. Be sure to use a high temp type. Be sure you sandpaper whatever you apply it to, so it will stick & not pull off when you pull out the syringe.
