Habitat:Someones lawn, well watered and moist.
Gills:Some of the very young ones had white gills but the more mature older ones had dark purple / dark brownish gills
Stem:Anywhere from 1" to 3" long, very white, somewhat hollow, thin, diameter was about 1/2 a cm
Cap: Diameter ranging from 1/2" to 2" little babies were about 1cm accross
Spore print color:Still working on the sporeprint, currently doing it.
Bruising: None so far, we picked them about 30 minutes ago.
Other information: Were in a big patch, very closely bunched, we picked them about 30 mins ago and no bruising evident. We picked them off of someones VERY green moist lawn.

The inky caps are likely Coprinellus micaceus.

Southern California, Like southwest united states right near mexico... No we haven't checked the golf course we went to one park and found the fat mushrooms and the ones we found were on a lawn. We really want to find more! But we dont know where to go anymore we've searched peoples lawns for like 4 hours with no luck I'm sad.

Coprinellus micaceus is edible (Not fantastic, but not bad), the op should only eat mushrooms he's sure about, and golf courses have nasty chemicals. I would recommend finding another place to pick mushrooms you plan to consume.
@ the op, ignore the stuff about lines on the stem in that, its not true and find some big green and well irrigated grassy fields. Check more then one, Panaeolus cinctulus shouldn't be that hard to find.

Yes I've read that, thats what I was hoping to find as its very ideal conditions for those where I am at, we've searched hundreds of well irrigated lawns / fields and only found those. I think I might give up on the hunting...

We've searched many fields / lawns and have had no luck I really wish they werent that hard to find... Theres SUPER ideal conditions where I'm at for those and I'm starting to give up on hunting.

Hey Fish,
I am sorry to hear of the results. I do appreciate your sharing.
I have only found edibles in SD, but will keep my eyes open, and will share results if I ever do find any actives.
Take care,
JD

SoCal Ovoids
Might be able to find Ovoids in that area. They have been found in the LA area..

I'm really dying to find some cintulus's. I looked today for about 3 hours with no mushrooms at all. Fuuudge it really makes me want some so bad when people are like "they shouldn't be hard to find at all" when I have a total hunting time of about 9 hours and I've searched a lot of lawns to no avail. Any tips / advice? I'll take anything that'll help me.

You're going to likely need to put more effort into it then 9 hours to expect results.
