Heart burns and aches after running

I've been running for 90 minutes straight 6 days a week for about two months now...well, it started off with slower hikes, but now I run in the flat spots and down hill, sometimes uphill.  I've been on a lowfat diet.  I am 5' 11" and weigh 155 lbs.  I want to weigh 145.  I am a male.

After running, for the last week, my heart aches/burns for the rest of the day.

Why is this?

Well, I'm no doctor or physical therapist but my guess would be that you're overworking your heart.  Your heart is a muscle and 90 minutes of intense cardio that often seems like it could easily be overworking it. 

I'd suggest resting for a few days.. then trying it again but staggering your schedule a bit.

If this works, then I was right.  :shrug:

A doctor would probably be a good idea.

I'll take one day off.

Are you sure that it's your heart that hurts?

This sounds unlikely to me.

I'd guess that it is another muscle--or something else entirely--in your chest.

You've been taking a day off every week.  One day doesn't seem like ample time for your heart to recover.  Take a few days off.. it's not going to hurt your performance at all and will definitely help it (regardless of whether or not it solves the heart ache).

I highly doubt it has to do with too little fat.

It's coming from the center of my chest.  Only does this after I workout.  I forgot to add that sometimes I workout for two hours or more.

I have gotten what I believe is the flu twice this year, but no puke or runs.  I worked a job earlier this year that was EXTREMELY dusty and I should have wore a mask, but did not.

I'm wondering if it's a lung infection or something.  I don't smoke anything right now but did quit smoking weed about 6 weeks ago or so.

How bad is it to overwork a heart?

Dude, I really don't think it's your heart.  Is there any chance that it's heart burn, i.e. stomach acid moving up into your esophagus?

Could it be exercised-induced asthma?

No matter what, I agree with the other poasters that you should be taking at least one more day off/week.

This sounds like you a lie, I just want to say... If you are running that far 6 days a week you would be burning over 1500cals per day just running plus around 2000+ to run your body.  Your calorie deficit is huge...  Did anyone else catch that?  Combined with a anon posting leads me to believe  your lying.  Oh, and to loose 10 lbs? seems a little excessive.

To answer your question sometimes this happens to me it almost feels like my pectoral muscles cramping more than anything.  Does that sound familliar?  If you want to know if it is your heart, run full speed after you are warmed up and your BMP will get up around 200 and then you will know what heart pain feels like.
