Spore + Cow = Mushrooms???

Ok here's my question,
The hippie has a beef cow in his back yard. I know the cow has a healthy diet of grain everyday. Would the cow produce mushrooms if he scraped a print or squarted a syringe onto the grain before the cow ate it. (given the correct weather) Or would this be a waste of spores and time???

i think it would be better if you put the spoores after the cow has deficated, no? id think the digestive acids would kill the spoores or mycelium.

Do both. There is one type of fungus that needs to go through the digestive tract of a cow to continue with its life cycle.

from what I've read cows don't have digestive acid this is why mushies often grow from their poop...they have the spores in them before the paddies are dropped...so this should work as long as you have the right weather EDIT: heres where I read this http://www.shroomwizard.com/GGreat.html

Cows wont eat mushrooms... since mushrooms grow on shit and cows avoid eating their own shit...

Several factors will result in if you will be able to make this happen. 1) If you are not in a sub tropical 60%-80% most of the time area then chances are only good if you get a good week of light rains. 2) The condition of the poo.. An airy cow turd works, a wattery runny cow poo won't.. and have that cow check out man! ewww! BUT! I have found shrooms of all types growing around a watery turd in the soil, among the grass, so it turns the soil around itself viable and will support mushrooms after it dries. 3) Cows are better then cow (don't have to be yours no one monitors the turds) 4) turbs in the shade and in the lows of the hills of a field (this is just how East Texas is anyway) 5) Most grain feed comes with FUNGICIDE!!! Opps.. no mushies. use organic ($$$) or straw. 6) Take a good size mushroom from your last indoor flush and go to a field you found that is secluded and easy to run around in. Go turd to turd in the prime locals (outlined above) tapping the cap and come back when the temps drop after summer.. SHROOMIES!!!

If the cow is in a small area then every time pins start to form he might just step on them. I thought you said that was a beef cow, so that cuteness wont last long. I think he would be more angry at the intention of slaughtering him than using him as a cultivation tool. It is said that the fungucide is put in feed to prevent fungus from infecting the food before ingestion. It supposedly gets broken down in the stomach, according to Stephen Peele at the FMRC.

If it does or doesn't I couldn't say (regarding the fungiside) I do know that I find more mushrooms in fields where cows are straw fed.

If the environment was good for Cubensis mushrooms there would most likely be mushrooms growing there already.
