My Passiflora Garden
    #14557421 -

So I've had these things for 3 years now growing in my backyard. They grow from spring until winter and die off and grow back. Every year there's been an increase in the amount of vines and they are taking over the place. Here's some picks for you all

someone has em on their front fence on my street (exept they have turned into passion fruits now), they look amazing and apparently have euphoric affects if you smoke them, have you tried that?

I've smoked the leaves on numerous occasions.... very mild sedative effects for me. Beautiful flowers.

Awesome looking flowers... Cool little spikey bug. Know what it is? Just another type of caterpillar or somethin? We only have the fuzzy orange and black ones that make you itch, or the ones that swarm the hell out of fruit trees.

Yes I have a few times. It does produce mild effects comparable to cannabis but less so. I have also made tea with similar results. I plan on running a few extractions on various parts of the plants in the future :chemistry:

Those are caterpillars of the Gulf Fritillary or Passion Butterfly. They come and lay eggs on vines. You can see them flying around especially during the fall. In the morning I'm greeted with dozens of flying butterflies  :awesome:

Awesome! The caterpillars ate mine away. I don't use cannabis, only Passiflora. I just bought some Lactuca virosa though. Gonna make some lettuce opium. The Passiflora has anxiolytic and anti-depressant effects for 24 hours, in addition to the low-rade cannabis-like high.

I've been trying everything with the fresh seeds I got and they're not doing shit! I hear cuttings are super easy to root and grow well. Are those the edulis variety? I believe they'd do well here as potted plants, overwintered inside. Once the greenhouse is done my goal is to let it grow on the frame.

If you can't find one, shuffle down the way a little, a little change of scenery or a view from a different angle may give you the insight you need.

So what kind of conditions do these things like?  Full sun?  Shade?  Drainage?  etc.?

Do they do well in Florida?

I just moved, and I'm hoping to restart my herb garden soon.  There's a lot of space, so I think I'll try planting some of these too.  Hopefully morning glory too.

I'm in Miami and they came up fine and blossomed, it's just that the butterflies liked them and they laid their eggs on them. The baby caterpillars must have gotten high on them. I admit to having killed them, but they won in the end.
