I do believe its a type of Echinocereus but im not sure what species it is. All the trees and cactus in the yard are all flowering at the same time :smile:

Oleander is extremely poisonous FYI. Be careful trimming it cause the sap has the highest concentrations of the poisons.

Those cacti flowers are really amazing man. Good luck with the garden

I dont think that is a white oleander.

I love the cactus flowers, that pad cactus has really been taking off also its put off about 6 new pads in the past 2-3 months.

That is oleander (Nerium oleander)

I'm 99% certain thats oleander. People grow it everywhere in Florida. There are huge plants right outside apartment. But then again I don't know every plant in the world hence the 1% of uncertainty

There's a caterpillar that eats oleander. Its orange and has black fuzzy spines all over it. It turns into a day flying polka dotted oleander moth. And there's also another species I've seen in my butterfly garden in south Florida. The spotted oleander moth. I don't know if you'd get either in Arizona put they are pretty cool.

Do you plan on putting the pedros in the ground?

Thats awesome. I will have to keep an eye on it to see if it attracts any interesting insects.

Im not sure what im doing with the Pedros yet. They are just starting to root, I planted them about a month ago.

Nice.  Good luck rooting those pedros.  I think they'll grow faster if you put them in the ground once they root as long as you find the right spot. 

And yeah if your see anything eating the oleander let me know.  It'd be cool to know if their range extends to Arizona.  I'll post some pics of my butterfly garden when I get a chance to get back down there.  I was thinking about making a thread about how to make a butterfly/hummingbird garden sometime.  It's really amazing to create a habitat and see it flourish right in your yard.  Plus being surround by all kinds of butterflies is an amazing experience on mushrooms.
