He said NOT indie guys...and all we've done is bombard him with more indie,,and Postrock (although I kinda consider Mogwai and EITS indie, since all indie people I know listen to them)

If you like postrock, check out mogwai and moving mountains, they have the postrock sound but with lyrics.

I love all of these bands BTW, not knocking them:awesomenod: and have PLENTY of indie bands that I can share, but as for NOT indie, here's some:

Detektivbyran:

Niel Young:

Amy Winehouse (she's actually pretty good to chill back to if you skip Rehab):

i'm sure i'll get shit for this, but i'm too old to care. npr did a story on david bazan's new one this afternoon - released today, leaked a month back. it's great if you haven't heard it.

you could also always go back instead of looking for new stuff.

i also recommend purchasing this book:

http://www.amazon.com/Turn-Your-Mind-Decades-Psychedelic/dp/0634055488/ref=sr_1_6?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1306291468&sr=1-6

i see jim derog's limitations as a critic (he thought tripping daisy was a flaming lips knockoff -wtf-ever i'm from dallas and anyone who thinks that is a fag), but overall, he has pretty cool taste.

Check out Cult of Luna.  Post-metal I guess you could say.  Lots of awesome chill sections, but they get pretty heavy.

Listen to this

Idk how to describe

This band is all about the Dead Sea Scrolls check 'em out, kinda dark

Forests of olde

Then there's shit like this

Some dark ambient
