uh oh!
    #14477438 -

Right I am currently at work and realised I'm a bit of a tit.

I have just harvested a nice 120g fresh mushies (yesterday). I thought I had a great idea but now realise I'm horribly wrong. I'm trying to dry them, but my set up is going ruin my whole batch!

Here's my bad drying setup :

Heat mat with tin foil on top, placed all mushies on the foil and covered with a propogator lid with holes open on top.

problem one : I have just realised that the water will condense on the propogator lid, drip down the sides and form a nice puddle for my shrooms to bathe in...

problem 2 : heat mat probably too hot, I'm worried that its going to ruin quality of trip.

The most annoying thing is that I have realised this, but I'm stuck at work with no way of getting to them anytime soon.

Anyone think they might be alright?

If there are any ideas to better this setup as well that would be brilliant.

MM

Have a desk fan blowing air across the set up.

Next, go to your local thrift stores & try & find a dehydrator.

Afraid we don't get these wondrous mega stores in UK. But eBay is my friend.

If I put a fan on the outside surely that will do nothing? I could maybe get a small fan and put it inside the lid?

Get them out of that set up completely and for a quick fix put them in a shoebox with the fan on low and do what todlow said and get a dehydrator

Ok cheers peeps, bit strapped for cash which is the main problem.

Need to source a fan, main priority!

Reverting back to problem 2, will the heat mat degrade my shrooms?

I put my dehydrator @ 145 F & mine turn out fine. As long as you don't go over 180 F, your mushis will be fine.

You don't need a dehydrator, if you're strapped for cash just air dry them. When I had shitloads to dry I'd just string them up across my room and leave the window and door open - if they were fat i'd slit the stems in half.

No loss in potency and free (I used a single strand from a network cable because you can just push it though the shrooms without messing with needle/thread)

I've turned to air drying now, seems to be working fine! I'm using the assistance of a standing heater to speed up the process as its generally about 12 celcius where I live.

String idea sounds good, rather not grow my spores in my lungs like jerm though

First trip tonight, looking forward to It! Anybody tried the Orange juice method? Is it true that it gives an increase in effect or speed of onset? I hear the pH of o.j breaks down ground mushrooms making less work for your stomach.
