Cold shock and then give them light. The cold shock isn't necessary for all types of cubes...but...is good for some.

rhizomorphic strands are not necessary


I'm not sure if it is "better" to pin outside the jar...they just look a lot better and you can do a little more with them...I guess the yeilds should be the same either way...but I found a lot of shroomies abhorted invitro.

Yeah, I tried initiating pins inside the jars. Although it worked fine, a lot of the pins inside the jars ended up being squished and looking like funky shrooms. Well, the caps were at least....sort of sideways. And I like the way beautiful shrooms look when you grow them, so i initiate pinning outside the jars.
