Heat and propogators.
    #1045609 - 11/12/02 07:36 AM (15 years, 5 months ago)

Hello everybody, I am very new to these forums and after some reading I still have a querie regarding Heat and Propogators. 1) I have had a look around but since I am at work and have ltd net time I cant spend very long searching, what is the termp range I should look at maintaining to start off my mushrooms?? 2) I have a seedling propogator for my OTHER crop, would this suffice for cultivation if kept in an airing cupboard or on a radiator maintained at whatever heat is required (the shrooms are Ps Cubensis ordered form the head shop in the UK.). 3) I am going to buy a heated propogator soon, do you think this would do?
Any replies are very much appreciated, I know the answers are on this site somewhere but my time is very ltd so please forgive me asking.
Peace
Germin8

To incubate jars you should maintain 80-82 degrees for best results and fastest cultivation of substrate. I don`t think the seedling mats will go that high. It may still work but the temps are usually lower and your jars will be slow. I`d go for the styrofoam cooler and the aquarium heater in a jug of water. Get enough wattage one to reach 80 degees. I think you`ll have better luck.
