trouble with lipai yai?

Hello, I tried asking some of these questions in another thread, but didn't get any responses. To see the details read my post in ' wild bird seed...no growth after 6 days' it's the very last one. The gist is that my buddy innoc. brf jars, cc jars, and liquid media jars with Malabar, and Lipai Yai, spore syringes. The ones with Malabar are germinating, but the ones with Lipai Yai are not. This is not his first time doing this, so he's no 'newbie' and it all went great before, when he did this a few years ago. Has anyone else had any problems with lipai Yai syringes ? And what should he do? the vendor sells these as microscopy kits. Thank you, Athena.

If you feel that the fault lies with the syringes then contact the vendor.

Hi, well , no I have not tried e-mailing them. I mean like I said this vendor sells his spores as microscopy kits, so how does my buddy say, " gee, this syringe is bad, I had no germination". I hate to lie, but even if I did, neither I nor my buddy knows enough about microscopy to think of a good reason why a microscopy kit syringe would need replacing. I guess he could try just saying, "Hey, it was bad", and hope the vendor does not ask for any details. I wouldn't e-mail in any event just out of paranoia, and safety for my buddy, but perhaps we could ask the vendor a general question, and then my buddy could mail a request for replacement. I am surprised that the syringe is bad ( and it's looking more and more every day as if that is the only thing it could have been) as this vendor gets good reviews in the vendor forum. But I guess nobody, or nothing is perfect. Thanks for the advice. Athena.

I thought your friend was not a newbie? He should know that he can get them replaced because they are bunk, even though they are sold as microscopy kits. Unless you bought them from a vendor that only deals with mycologists, if that is the case you would not have gotten them.

Hi, He's not a newbie, but the last time he did this , 2 or 3 years ago, the vendors were not all worried about selling spores in 'microscopy' kits. In fact he bought from Fanaticus, and he said those took off like gang busters. since I last posted I have tried to contact the vendor on my friend's behalf, and discovered that this vendor is 'on vacation', until June (yeah, right). How does one contact a vendor who is on vacation? Kind of a crappy deal. Athena.

Interesting, have you tried e-mailing this vendor? How about a pm?
Just a thought but maybe you should try that before you start bad-mouthing.

I suggest that you email or private message the Vendor. I'm sure you can work this out in private. Click!
