Flowhood without hepa filter?
    #1430035 -

I was wondering if it would be feasible to make a flowhood with a skwerill cage blower, some furnace prefilters and air duct filters sandwhiching a 1 foot deep section of stuft polyfill...
Of course, I imagine the polyfill would need periodic replace ment... but at 6 dollars a bag, it beats an 80 dollar filter.

skwerill cage blower->furnace prefilter->airduct->polyfill->airduct->clean air in work space.

You're ideas?

Granted, this idea was as stupid as hell. I had hoped, though, that it would generate a conversation that WOULD produce a feasible alternative to HePa

Flat type automotive engine air cleaners are around 99% effective, cheap & easy to work with.

That is far more effective than furnace filters & most rinky dink cheap table top (so called) ---> hepa filters<---- (because the filters are generaly not well sealed into them). Except, what gets by them, would still do you in.

My foaf uses flat automotive engine air filters, in banks on a panel as "pre/filters" in front of a hepa filter.
